940 CFNV (Montreal) in C-Quam AM Stereo?
Ғылым және технология
For a while on December 21st, 2017 radio station 940 CFNV (ex-CINW) from Montreal, Quebec, Canada was being received in AM Stereo on my Denon TU-680NAB tuner, via skywave here in central New Jersey. Unfortunately I think it was just "falsing" (false indication of a C-Quam signal) because I could not hear any stereo separation in the music and at other times I could only get CFNV in mono. But it's still nice to see the Stereo indicator illuminate on AM anyway!

Yes AM Stereo still exists
I am asking you, for information on how I can modify radio AIWA CSD-MD50 for AM Stereo reception. Tanks for help.
Actually I am not convinced if they do broadcast in stereo. May be not only a false indicator but also a false two channel mix with a weird shifting of the left and right audio.
Hello. Could you confirm WMTR 1250am does not run test cquam lately. Because the stereo light comes on when you receive it!

gjasionek Don't know for sure, but maybe they are just sending out the 25 Hz pilot ? Could be someone turned on the C-Quam encoder in the equipment rack and didn't realize it perhaps?

I listen to WMTR every morning on my Denon tuner and I've never seen any indication of stereo from them.
I think they may in fact be broadcasting in stereo. I caught a better apparent stereo lock early this morning and will continue to monitor. You can hear a bit from today here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pHqspbaFnsSphbw.html
I found the same maybe false stereo on my Sony stereo Receiver and I have posted the scan here : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qaRru5qSmtGqh7A.html Mine is a scan of distant and low powered AM, FM and HD stations received at my home in Pickering Ontario. The CFNV content is heard around 27:52.
