This is by far the best video for replacing the ignition coil for this car style. Easy instructions and easy to understand. I like the use of colorful metaphors and good humor 😂. It fixed my problem (hard idle and stalling after warm up or any load like AC killed it) there was a very obvious crack across coil surface. Now it is back up and running. My car is a 95 1.6 L corolla. Thanks bro.

Thank you very much! After replacing a few other parts on our 95 Corolla with 1.8L, I followed your lead and replaced the ignition coil and poof, she is back up and running. Symptoms (idles fine but if you give it some gas it sputters).

My 93 Camry runs 5 min then stalls. Then runs 1 min then stalls again. Then wont start just turns over. Found a bad ignition coil although the distributor was new. No one believed me the coil failed.

I know it's a long time ago but i'm throwing this in here for others. On this corolla engine his coil serial number ended with the last 2 numbers being 93. On my L touring 96 1.5 i had to have the coil with the last 2 numbers being 94. I couldn't tell which 1 it was til i took it off then off to get the part from the store.

My daughter has one of these 1991 Toyota Camry and we have replaced 2 coils in a couple years. Now we think its doing the same thing again. Why don't they have a coil on the body of the car and get rid of this terrible design. Just have a cap with no coil. I have had 4 Honda Accords and never had coil problems like these God awful Toyota's have. One of the most stupid designs I have ever seen. This car is going down the road.
