There's an album called "Songs of Mourning" by Carl Gene which is one of the most harrowing things I've ever listened to. It's about his mother's suicide and even contains audio of a detective reading his mother's suicide note to him. It's uncomfortably personal because you feel like you've been inserted into one of the darkest moments in a person's life. I've never experienced anything quite like it.

the person behind nullobite is one of my dear friends and they've been working hard on this stuff for a long time now, it's amazing to see strangers showing love for them 🙏
Ah Leyland Kirby ... For a long time, his music best described my mental state in the 2010s. It was so good that I was convinced I could never make music myself ever again. Interestingly enough, when We, so tired came out, it also helped describe my mental state, in particular the tracks “Collected light”, “Solid mentality” (which you used in your background) and “Tinseltown”. But it was also the same time when I started my deep dive in the whole vapour scene, which would in turn help me get my own music making groove and thus become キラヨシ. But I want to add that I actually wrote to him back then and even expressed my own doubts. He did respond and, thankfully, encouraged me in a way that made sense to me years later. So in a way, this was an example - and thankfully there has been and will be more like it - where I approach an artist as a fellow peer and there’s great comfort to know there are other artists out there who struggling to make sense of things too. P.S. I have to revisit my Bandcamp wishlist because it has reached critical mass 😁

I know you've said on live streams that you'll get to it, but if you haven't yet, please, please, please take a day and deep dive into Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and Brian Eno. I don't care if you never do a video on any of them, but it's a serious dissonance where you know so much about what they've inspired but are missing these core foundations. Now, for the show, I think you would have a blast covering Ghost Box Records. Very cohesive, more a movement than a brand. (Though again, good to know your Boards of Canada going in ;) )

Another great one man! I hadn't heard of most of these.
Seeing Pad's channel grow little by little really lifts me up~
Something I remembered while you were talking about time was that in one history lesson our teacher was teaching about the indrustial revolution and specifically about trains. For the sake of clarity I don't live in the USA or UK so I got a different point of view but I think that this still stands: our teacher said "then humans started to be the slaves of time" because now the time of traveling wouldn't be measured in days but in hours and minutes. If you wanted to board the train, you had to be on time. Clocks were becoming more common in homes and slowly but surely specific times took over the home. 5 AM get water from well, 6 AM make breakfest, 9 AM feed the horses etc.
Omg you are from Jersey! Me too currently in Toms River just a few miles west of Seasode Heights thank you for this channel!

great video yet again! I commented this last video but I recommend looking into Jandek. Very weird, its outsider music at its best. His album "Ready for the House" is so ominous and scary by accident
Today I learned that I've been into signalwave without even knowing it was a thing! Well now that I know it has a name, I can probably find more in that genre now. Also Pad - I discovered your channel a few months ago after listening to Everywhere at The End of Time (someone in the comments mentioned a video you made on disturbing albums where EATOT was number one). Since then I've learned about so many strange music genres thag I don't even know where to start! Your channel has inspired me a lot, in both my taste in music and my drawings. So yeah I hope more people discover your channel!
Congrats on the 100k my man! Proud to say i was here before the 5k!

Dude! thanks so much, crazy it feels so long ago lol... thanks for all the support :)
I’ll mention this person again, Peter Sotos. His album Buyer’s Market is one of the most disturbing things I have heard and there is at least 3 albums he has made.

Buyers Market is nothing compared to Pseudoscorpion by Zenjin. Both equally shit. Although Sotos is one interesting fellow
