Jack Stauber- Viator. Not too messy, or ambient. Just simple guitar based album, yet it feels both alien, and friendly. It's about self-discovery and getting to know what you passions are. I hold this album very close to me, and I connect to it on a deeper level.

No, the most mysterious album is ‘the vird moulter and her mouldered son’ by abu lahab. There’s only one track from the album that exists online and it’s the scariest thing you will listen to (an amazing track btw). Look up ‘my second birth is of incest (or an insect)’ to hear what I’m talking about.

I highly recommend you check out CRT麻痺. Their five albums are some of, if not the best, broken transmission music I've ever heard. The songs really put you in the scene: a person sitting next to their radio, stuck in the middle of a snowstorm somwhere in a desolate tundra. The atmosphere is incredible and every time I listen to the album I either open a window or take a cold shower just so I can be closer to the experience depicted through the fine collection of samples and the hazy album art.

Very fortunate to get Sacrifice on vinyl and Shanghai/Hong Kong on CD (which has a bonus track on it) Recently, a release I’ve been obsessing over is Growth of the Night Plants by A Name for Both of Us. It’s a near 15 minute one-track affair and was described to be the start of a series of works inspired by Paul Klee’s paintings. It starts with these dreamy synths and then a harp gently plucking away. And it actually is a harp playing, recording during one summer night down in Florida. The rest of it has these dreamy synths continuing to play with cicadas providing an underscore. It sounds like it’s in some alien or fantasy world and yet feels very familiar and comforting. This is actually why I listen to it a lot as it is a way to bring me into a calm state. A neat obscure physical release I have is Kentanna by Leucrocuta. Leucrocuta is a Toronto based artist. This album was directly inspired by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. (The album title came from an episode where a group of refugees are looking for a new homeworld they called Kentanna. It turns out that it is actually Bajor.). The album was put out by Lost Angles on cassette in a very short run of 25. They were gold-foil labels on a transparent casing. However, one of these 25 actually uses a “solid metallic gold” shell instead. I ended up being the lucky one 😁. Funny enough, I had a feeling when I placed the order that I would be the winner (or to use a DS9 phrase: I would be shouting “Dabo!”). Furthermore, it is incredibly fitting as my moniker is named after a character from DS9 (Miles and Keiko O’Brien’s second child). So yeah ... keep on exploring those sounds =]

I think you would really appreciate the label Pacific City Sound Visions, not really mentioned in the conversation about early vaporwave/hypnagogic pop, many of the albums on there were just as influential as James Ferraro's early stuff. The label is run by Spencer Clark (who had actually made music with Ferraro before), and I think a good portion of the albums from the label are just his music. My introduction was through Alien Wildlife Estate, a strange, fourth-world ambient album which sounds somewhere between Jon Hassel and James Ferraro.

man, i think cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD is one of the albums more mysterious of the time, and his born was in the internet. cLOUDDEAD is like the grandfather of the Cloud Rap and Ambient Rap, because Yung Lean dropped his first EP in 2013, but this album is from 2001! is a Masterpiece, ahead of his time.

I have to appreciate Pad's persuasion when it comes to some of these albums. It's really nice to be kinda pushed to try something as I am someone who is very picky about the content I decide to indulge in. I feel like, in a way, the Mother album saved me from something within myself. All I need to hear is that first track and I a lulled into a heaven that I can completely bask in and let myself be bathed in. The first listen made me want to sob my eyes out, in the most blissful way possible. I can't get enough of that first track whatsoever. 分娩 is such a mesmerizing track that it whisked me away to a place I was so unfamiliar with but felt so secure in. And all I could feel was my chest raise higher and higher in happiness and euphoria. Mother is such a gorgeous journey, and I encourage anyone who hasn't taken time to listen to it to please open your mind to it. Lay back, relax, and empty your mind into this album.

Megafluid Corporation sounds so peaceful yet unsettling knowing the implications of a lush world being taken over by industrialization. Even the last song sounds sinister.

Anything by the solo artist Grouper might fit, especially A I A: Alien Observer. Her stuff seems soothing to me, and the vocals are like the auditory representation of a hug.

Excellent video. I will be checking all of these artists out later. I would like to recommend anything by the band "You''ll Never Get to Heaven". Their album "Images" is otherwordly, fuzzed out and hazy. Imagine if David Lynch, Julee Cruise, Boards of Canada and Cocteau Twins all merged together. I think it would sound something like this beautiful and sometimes eerie lofi dream music. Please check them out if you get a chance 🧡👍

Rain Temple will always be the album to help through tough phases of my life. Recently I discovered the new album of R∞ - NEOZEN which was amazing! You should definitely check it out. And thanks for the new suggestions. Already own a few and stumbled upon a few but gave it a new try. Sometimes you need more than one listening.

it's not exactly hidden or mysterious, but i have a soft spot for Tuesday Maybe by Way Out West. it's so atmospheric yet simple and danceable, i send it to my friends who need help relaxing, but i would also absolutely jam to it in a car.

One of the otherworldly albums I stumbled upon would be A Blessed Unrest by The Parlour Trick on Bandcamp. It blends dark ambient and modern classical music together and I remember listening to the more relaxing and mysterious aspects of it while transitioning into the darker and otherworldly side of the album. By the time I found out its true nature of it, I was already trapped in it.
