Me personally, I would put the stove on the same wall as the fridge on the other side of that window instead of next to the sink because I would rather have more counter space next to the sink. I like to have a dirty and clean side for my dishes. If that makes sense.

As a avid watcher of your videos, I think you have done a amazing job of redoing this house. "Real Time" is the key to what you are doing. Myself and others who appreciate what you do, know the, time it takes to renovate an existing structure. Those who watch renovation shows, really don't get real time in those segments; also they have many contractors assisting in those segments. I appreciate, you taking time to explain certain aspects of why you did what you did. I think, when the dry wall goes up those detractors will see the end results. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Do you still have that sign that the tenants left behind about "don't let the cat out, no matter what he tells you"? That might make a funny easter egg to leave in a wall for a future renovator to discover.

I can totally understand with you on the house you sold because of renter's causing problems. That happened to our neighbor here in Texas where we live. The people had way more ppl living there than allowed and they also had pets which was against the lease. The woman who owned the house was so nice she tried working with them but had to get them evicted. The renters poured motor oil all over the carpet and destroyed the inside of the house. She was very upset and said she would never rent again, she fixed the house and sold it. My parents rented for over 10 years and was never late on rent and our landlord actually didn't want us to move. Renting is kinda like gambling you can win and lose depending on if the people you rent to are honest good people who care about the property regardless of if it is "theirs" or not

If you put the range at the edge of window by fridge, then straight countertop to your fridge. It could be a useful spot for trash bins, eating, or just nice to have counter space. Microwaves and coffee machines are hard to store in cabinets.

I'm definitely guilty of overestimating the value of my opinion, and also misunderstanding something you've said. I think a person's frame of mind ( life stress for instance ) can embolden them to say things they later might regret. Love the videos, eagerly watch each one.

I think it would be good to have the oven on the same side as the fridge, on the other side of the window. I think it would be good to have some separation from the sink and the oven (having them right beside each other would be pretty awkward).

Aloha from Kauai, been enjoying your vids, on all the houses, and your personal adventure. Kudos on good story telling, and all the hard persistent work you do. In a way, you are taking nasty run down places that others would just demolish and put all your energy and attention into turning them to conscious spaces, where families can live affordably and nicely. Well done, keep up the good work. I always look forward to all your vids and enjoy your positive style

It's incredibly satisfying seeing you make this progress with getting rooms to the stage of drywalling. The major renovation stuff sure is neat, but this is oddly satisfying. Everything is just looking good to go. The clutter and bulk of the decision making is done. Very good stuff, thanks for sharing!

Everybody needs to grow up and realize we are all different and have to accept people for who they are and learn to listen, because you just may learn something you didn't know yesterday. That's why I watch this channel. I have a lot of experience fixing things, building things, etc. I don't know everything and nobody on this planet does, I've never owned a home and most likely, never will, but there is always hope.

I'm only just watching this series, and I'll admit, I've been binging them over the last week or so. Your craftsmanship is amazing, but what just got me the most, was your use of the old boards for the floor gap. Where most people would just put in new boards, I love the fact you reused a bit of the house's history. Keep up the amazing work, I'm excited to see the latest in the concrete block mini-series.

This is so much more informational than other renovation videos that skip over the mistakes, problems and frustrations that come with renovating old homes. That cement block in the basement is a hoot! It certainly is resisting all attempts to remove it.

I have never commented on your videos but have been watching for a long time! I think you do incredible work. My Father was a contractor his whole life until he passed away at 79.... I have nothing negative to say...I am amazed at what you and by yourself! How amazing is it that people feel the need to critique everyone ALL THE TIME! Really? Living in a small community....I deeply appreciate men like you who come in and fix up those run down house into something good. Anyone who has watched you can certainly tell you ARE NOT “ SLUM LORD”... LOL!!! Oh my goodness! I will say some days your hair is like my grandson’s and I giggle ! 👍👍. I love what you have to say and enjoy watching contracting work being done... makes me miss my Dad.. but nice to see young men with integrity! Keep up the great work... keep making these great videos, I’m a silent subscriber who doesn’t comment... but your last 10 minutes conversation just made me laugh! Really people! Takes all kind.

I know there are people out there with the attention span of a gnat that want instant gratification with vids of instant rennos, but I actually enjoy seeing the progress of each step. I'm a lady in my 60's and won't be doing any further rennos of my own, but I bought & moved into a 104 year-old old craftsman bungalow (for $7500!) last year so it's all interesting to me. Appreciate your positive attitude & willingness to explain the what & why's of what you're doing.

I like your idea; of not removing walls gives a sense of defined spaces. You can get a corner oven. I like the idea of lots of counter ;it's a nice surprise to have plenty storage in a tiny house. I might add....the joy of working for yourself shows. Even though it's a crap-load of work and worry everything you do in this little place reflects your integrity to make it a good home for someone.
