It’s possible it was recording in feet however it did say yards on the device. Plus I kept changing it from meters to yards. Took the red one out 3 different days and it was always off in different ways.

I use the bushnell v4 and i have been shooting closer to pin than ever. I use it on the range a lot too. I used to just wing it and look at yardage markers now that i have range finder im more confident to attack

Enjoyed the review, very much to the point. Wosports is now bookmarked. For anyone looking to buy a rangefinder, take care of it. They tend to be fragile if dropped or if it falls out of its case. From experience, I bought a well padded small camera bag for my last Bushnell. Straps right to the golf bag and gives it great protection. Not in use on a shot, it's in the bag.

I bought the WoSports W600 from Amazon and it would not range anything further than 125m, pin loc or scan mode.. Mine was white, not the charcoal of the one in this clip, so not sure they are actually the same thing. Best part was I returned it no problems ..

The targets at the range are already measured, they usually have the distances posted on a stone or something.

hey matt can you scan the edges of bunkers / water with the WoSport range finder or is it strictly for the flag sticks?

Love watching you man! I learn a lot and this one I learned you can make me laugh my ass off. This was hilarious when it came to that red and black rangefinder.

Is that the range at Olivas Links in Ventura? If it is, are the distances posted on the range kiosk close to what you shot in order to calibrate?

What do u mean by reflective thing on the flag sticks, so the range finder can connect? What if the golf course you play on, doesn't have this attached to the flag sticks?

I used GPS on the phone for a while. Often times it's way off. Often times it's not even remotely close. The only time it's handy is when you're blocked from seeing the pin and can't use the range finder. Range finder is almost completely 100% correct all the time.

The yardages between the 2 units during the multi target test showed that the yardages between the 2 units were not the same. Which unit recorded the "correct" yardages?

I'd say generally with them being within 3-5 yards of each other, you could hit the same club for those shots. Either that or you could use markers on course and guess. They're probably close enough to what's "right" though.

I use the Garmin Approach S20 watch and it is pretty close to my buddy's Bushnell every time. For my skill level being off by 1 or 2 yards doesn't make a difference

twmusicoustic I also got the S20. It seemed the simplest. Anything you have to play around with just slows things down. I think the cellphones and range finders do. Dedicated GPS is fastest as long as you don’t have too many additional features.

I use the yardage markers, if there are none, I use my free Golf pad cell phone app , it has gps yardages to the center of green, did I mention FREE

Range finders have there place. They help in some situations where GPS won't. Like on the range. Practice. Etc. I use a Garmin G8 (not free) but I see value in range finders as well

i like cell gps phone apps, but my problem is excessive heat and battery life on my aging phone. So, I carried a charger, but I play worse because I am distracted by email, social media, --squirrels! Leaving it in the bag and using the 100, 150, 200 yard indicators on the course and I still hit the ball in the water, sand or woods. I even had someone tell me when I asked questions about what features they liked about their rangefinder, --"your game is not good enough for a rangefinder." So, I am working on my swing and visually estimate, until my game is good enough.

Was the other one reading feet instead of yards?

Great Video!!! subscribed!!! I have the W600-A, which is white instead of green and does have slope; still >$100 too :-) I think the model you have is intended for hunting. Still a great product and perfect for someone just getting into the sport and wanting to up his game with minimal expense.

This is a unusually good review. You exposed the bad product. I cannot believe there are products so bad. I mean, how come the manufacturer didn't test its products at all? What the heII?

There is a version with slope for $20 more. I have it and it works great. I always test it against my buddies more expensive rangefinders and I get within a yard everytime. Cant beat it!

Also, can this be used to find a yardage for a layup shot over a ravine say on a Par 5? I want to know what the distance is from a second shot to the edge of a ravine to layup. Don't know if that makes any sense but hey.. :)

Yes it can shoot the ground, bushes, trees etc. It's pretty solid for the price.

I just use gps, it's much easier. Plus I can know the distance to something I don't even have visual on.

Talk about perfect timing. Last week I played and by the 4th hole I realized my Buschnel had fallen out of its clip thingy on my bag. Frogger strap that’s used to clip to golf cart frame. I usually always strap it on the cart before the round starts or after my first shot, but a playing partner had the same laser and we were just using his. Anyways, being on the start of the 4th I quickly back tracked to see if I could find it. It had a red rubber protector on it so it would have stuck out like a sore thumb on the course and any body would have seen it and been like ewww what’s that. Asked the guy (single player) behind us and of course, “ Never saw it” then the group behind him was a foursome of old farts. They never saw it either. I get frustrated of course as this is my 3rd buschnel in 5 years. 400 a pop. My gut tells me it was the single player, no witnesses, perfect storm for him to snag it and be like “Nope”. Pro shop never had it turned in. Gone. Lose faith in humanity more and more. Moral of the story. I’m buying a cheap one now and this one fits the bill. Or the tec tec on Amazon has great reviews. Not worth it to spend lots of money on something so easy to lose on the course and NO ONE turns in. Just writing this pisses me off all over again.

Eyes Open the exact same thing happened to me. I bout the TGW home brand for $170 and the clip was crappy; sure enough it fell off the bag when my cart was going over some bumpy areas. No one turned it in; slimy people out there. Can’t imagine pocketing something that didn’t belong to me. I’m going to switch to a Garmin watch. Best of luck to you.

One thing you didn't mention is the type of battery they use. I have a rangefinder and have to use a mini round battery that costs about $10. They are cheaper on Amazon but they get used up pretty quick and usually at the worst time. What about the ones that have GPS? What's that about? Like I know where I am. - It annoys me when players are using their apps for distance. Takes so long.

you really dont need anything more than a simple 50 buck Golf Buddy or Garmin front-middle-back GPS

What about Fog for us morning golfers.

the speed mode means that it can tell you how fast something is moving.

I've upgraded my camera since this video.

Basically all those Chinese range finders have the same electronics under the hood......all the under 100 dollar units at least..............you are going to get the odd one that needs calibration because of maybe mishandling during shipping and transportation.

But it’s only $45?

Speed is for wind to see how fast the flag is moving

In fact, some might argue that your position on youtube gives you a moral responsibility *to* call out shit products and help prevent these companies from peddling their junk and scamming customers.

I picked up a w600 for $30. Usually within a yard off of my friend's better unit. I shoot bogey, so it's more acurate than my game. Great value.

@@aimeagle i picked it up on fb marketplace, Actually for 20 bucks. Took it on the course and shot best round in 20 yrs. It is aka a wosports or peakpulse 7s. Sells new from 100-130 bucks on amazon. Find a used one for half. Be sure it has slope. Solid consistency.

So Nikon is like a scottyCameron, just paying for the name.

712 yards to the flag, thats a wedge right?

These devices are so easily screwed up by anything with the slightest angle... which is basically everything unless you hit something dead on. Even a 1-degree angle can skew results if something is far away, as the angles add up to a big change the longer the distance... Anyway... Don't waste money on a cheap one of these. These are devices that really have to be highly precise with no cheap crappy budget parts. Remember, when dealing with distances, and especially any distance longer than, say, 50 feet, and any object that's not a massive object... the slightest skew from the laser hitting it on an angle will reflect back to you a screwy result you often know is wrong... that's how off they can be at times, and that's $300, $400, even $500 units. So forget any of the $100 units. They can't possibly work well. In professional settings where the measurements are crucial... these units can cost well over $15,000. That's how hard it is to make these things with the technology to be precise enough to rely on, really rely on. Otherwise, take your results with a plus or minus 10 or 15% variance. And that's alot. And I'm talking about $400 to $500 units. Like I said, completely forget cheap ones, like the ones advertised for $100. Don't waste the time and money. They're entirely unreliable. But even a $500 unit is reliable with a, oh, say a 10 or 15% swing. Not too great. Sometimes you get lucky, and it's dead on. Sure. If you're aiming at a large wall, for instance, a clear can't miss dead-on t-bone shot hitting the mark perfectly perpendicular from your pov, you know.

This video is helter skelter golf. I think these devices are not allowed in golf tournaments. Between friends, anything goes including a foot mashie.
