The jackshaft kit is best used on a mountain bike so you can shift thru the gears.

I have 8 or 9 of these motorized-bikes built in 2-stroke/4-stroke etc, but I haven't done a jack-shaft on one yet, I have heard too many people who have them say they aren't worth it, that they were more of a novelty, they just weren't practical, and now after seeing these video's, I doubt that I will be installing one anytime soon, lol, great video's, thanks for sharing.

SO far the only thing good about it is: There is only one chain on the bike. Still have to dial it in. I love these bikes. How are those 4 stroke kits working out for you? I might have to pick me up one of those. I picked up 2- 49cc motors more for scooters, one has a gear box on it. I'll upload videos as I do film everything I got going on. Thank you for watching, and thanks for your comment!

You are going about things wrong and making more work for your self they make spaces for the engine mount all you have to do is find out what the down tube is on whether it is 3/4 inch or larger or smaller that is for the seat tube also I would install fat tire wheels with disk brakes and it is up to you if ythesou want the caliper to be cable pull and pressure or hydraulic on the rear tire you can go ahead with standard front brakes or also disk brakes also nice choice for the handle bars. Hope you take these opinions too heart it will help you out and you are right you will need a longer U-bolt for the set up plus if you add a rubber shim with with the mounts it will help to avoid vibrations from loosening the bolts and causing you more trouble. Plus they make a pull start kit that will bolt on to the engine if you want to go that rout.

I know this is a year old video but you can take the bolt off of the clutch arm and turn it out it is splined for this reason if you cut the arm shorter it will be a bit harder to pull and can stretch the clutch cable over time faster then leaving it at length

I think I was just thinking out loud. I ended up moving the motor mount and never cut the clutch arm. Thanks for the comment.

Usually I have issues with those little shaft keys walking out on me, I found that drilling a small hole into the center of the key and threading the set screw half way down the key keeps it in place with some loctite. You can also use a clutch cover chain guard in addition to that.

I actually moved on to a Schwinn Stingray. The beach cruizer is still sitting in the exact same place as the last episode. lol I did wax the fenders, although they are not on the bike, also put some Old school BMX brakes on it. Pretty sure they were from a 1980's Diamondback. Thanks for your input Danny, I appreciate it. Everything a ongoing project, feel free to make suggestions anytime!!!

@@OlszkoolCustoms thats awesome you know i really enjoy the motorized bike community for the most part . and there are not many that do real videos alot of shorts of there bikes running and stuff like that so alot of the time im just waiting for someone who does videos longer then 10 seconds to put something out . i enjoy the ride along videos the build videos most of the time i just like to listen to the people talk while there trying to build or about problems there having . but i tell ya what them jack shaft projects dont seem to be worth the time . most of the time i think the people who do them regret the effort it takes and they dont work like they should . i cant say for sure ive never done one . here where i live its illegal unless you want to register it as a motorcycle . at that point it is just better to buy a motorcycle . but i do see the benefits of it if you can get it to work right . having 7 or more gears in the back would be great for climbing hills or down and dirty speed . i have enjoyed the jack shaft build it is very interesting. but i learned one thing from you there is no way ill be messing with that head ace lol . ill stick to the two chain two gear rag joint mess im dealing with now lol . ill be looking forward to your next video brother and i know ill be watching old ones as well . i try not to watch them all so i have something to look forward to later . you know late at night when i cant sleep and want to watch someone else working on there project . thanks again and take care im sure ill be in your comments again later lol .

@@BuildBreakFix I thought this would be a fun build to take this bike on vacation to the beach, but the entire frame was a nightmare. I'm going to put this setup on a Schwinn Frontier like my blue one, or on a GT bike I picked up. I'd say a modified jackshaft kit is worth a try. It's not complete junk, but it needs tweaked lol... I'll get to it again, I'm messing with a couple mini bike builds right now.
