What is nutritional yeast?
Nutritional yeast is a type of yeast that is a microbe that is inactive. It’s different than bakers yeast, which is an active yeast. You need to be sure you’re consuming non-fortified nutritional yeast. My version is non-fortified and does not contain synthetic vitamins.
Health benefits of nutritional yeast:
• It has a complete amino acid profile
• It has minerals and trace minerals
• It has B vitamins
• It has glutathione
• It has selenomethionine
What does nutritional yeast taste like?
Nutritional yeast has a slightly cheesy and nutty flavor.
Nutritional yeast is different than yeast extract, which is used as a food additive, and flavoring and also contains glutamate.
Yeast extracts:
• Vegemite
• Marmite
• Tasty yeast
Nutritional yeast uses in your diet:
1. Broths
2. Sauces
3. Soups
4. Salads
5. Curries
6. Eggs
7. Veggies
8. Dips

Here's a recipe I make sometimes when I need more veggies in my diet (so a few times a week) Make this according to your own taste Celery Onion Loads of cloves of garlic Kale Broccoli Zucchini A few mushrooms Bok choy Ginger Cabbage if you can tolerate it (I cant) BOIL when it boils immediately pull off heat. This will kill the kale a little and soften the veggies without killing of the nutrional content. Now add the juice of 1 lemon, loads of nutrional yeast salt red pepper flakes and FRESH DILL i even but a whole handful of it. Make a huge pot and boil maybe 1 or 2 eggs. Soft. Done. Sorry i forgot I put ghee or olive oil after it's done boiling. It's extremely satisfying filling and a vitamin powerhouse you get your greens protein on the side sometimes i skip the eggs and add a few spoons of hemp seeds instead. This is really my favorite recipe. And its not expensive meaning you can make this soup everyday for 7 days and shop for it once. Cause you use some of each veggie. Guys TRY it

Having 677 MTHFR I couldn’t find a nutritional yeast that didn’t have folic acid. I finally found some that has folate instead so I bought it and I poured it in a storage mason jar for easy access and my male kitty went crazy at the smell!! Of course he is a very picky cat so I don’t understand why he loved this so much but I didn’t give him any since I didn’t know if it was safe for cats.

That's how I feel. However, the bottle of tablets from Dr Berg says to chew them or grind them into powder. I don't know how to use them in anything. So I chewed them and that was awful I have to choke them down. But I think they made me feel better as I am just starting keto I'm getting off of sugar processed foods.

I just mix it into my egg beaters every morning just to get a little extra protein into my diet. It wasn't until later that I found out all of the additional benefits to it. Among other things (spices that include turmeric and black pepper, half a can of rinsed black beans, hot sauces and feta cheese) I also toss in a big handful of spinach and mix it until it wilts a little before taking it off of the stove. The spinach tastes great with it.
