8 Things Rich People Don’t Spend Their Money On

Ойын-сауық

What do rich people buy? Many of us think that wealthy people buy luxury things only. Of course, there are things that speak to a person’s financial wealth like expensive watches and fancy cars. Some poor people are ready to save their money for years or even take out loans to be able to buy these things. However, rich people around the world have gradually stopped indicating their social status this way.
For example, Forbes-list millionaires can talk on a phone model released 5 years ago these days. Yes, rich people don't buy what poor people want, and it’s not just phones! So here're symbols of wealth that are not trendy anymore. There are still many people who haven’t realized this yet.

Fast forward to now. I am worth 500k and currently finishing my 8 unit apartment building. I am 35 and already retired from the rat race. I am convinced the issue of fashion has more to do with personality rather than being rich or poor. For example, a rich guy will wear a 10 dollar t-shirt and a 50 dollar shoe, but top it up with a $ 30,000 Rolex watch. On the other hand, I have seen rich people go all out and wear some really expensive clothes. My understanding is it depends on how they made their money. Self-made folks tend to be more frugal in their spending and would therefore wear cheap clothes. Most of them grew up poor, or middle class and still have some of their old habits. However, the ones with generational wealth will spare no expense when it comes to clothing. They are the ones that buy brands such as Gucci and Versace.

As I'm getting older, getting a new car and phone doesn't appear to me more than seeing portfolio grow and playing better tennis. I guess when you have the fundamental financial stability and leaning toward financial independence, you view things either assets or liabilities. The of course, new car, clothes, phone are liability. Would 3 camera lenses phone make you a photographer? Would 0-60 in 3 second car drive faster from A to B than a beat up one given both obey the speed limit.

Somali Tigers I have known wealthy people who lived like paupers, so determined to hang onto their money to pass on to their kids or whatever. This video gives some great advice! However, as I have observed, rich people can be so obsessive about saving their money, it’s like hoarding, and they don’t even get as much enjoyment out of their lives as we do. I knew of at least 2 examples where the people lived in the plainest surroundings and ate the most meager food. I say, use common sense with whatever money you have, whether it’s great riches or a bare living. We don’t have to starve, which depletes the immune system and leads to serious illness. Yet many people are into materialism, constantly buying “stuff” to look cool and keep up with peers. But as you get older, if you are wise you understand more with each passing year that “you can’t take it with you.”

Truth is, ppl take loans these days because they want the lifestyle they could not afford... But if they choose to live within what they could afford, usually loans can be avoided.

Yes. Never take a loan out on something that depreciates in value. Like a more expensive car than you need. Or not paying off the credit card in full every month. If you charge something like clothes or expensive hand bags but take months to pay it off it costs far more than the purchase price due to interest plus they both wear out (depreciate in value).
