Investments only work if you have large sums of money sitting around doing nothing. The poor don't have such luxuries as their incoming is pretty much gone paying the cost of living. It takes few million just sitting around to create a diversified portfolio to produce livable returns. Sure you can yeet few grand onto a high risk and potentially make out big but that's effectively no different than gambling at your local casino.

@@bonchidude Roughly 20% of the rich inherit wealth and 80% of millionaires are first generation who built their wealth on their own. Roughly 80% of them earned it as first generation individuals without family inheritance. Which means they are the first to be rich in their family. Inheriting wealth as the #1 excuse for why most rich people are rich is invalid. There are of course a ton of variables in life beyond inheritance such as an individuals work ethic, where you are born and being raised, and as mentioned before the connections you get, or come across, throughout your life can make a really big differences, and so much more.

00:43 oh, this starts well. FFS, Warren Buffet's father was a Congressman with a thriving business. Through investments that his dad allowed him to do in the family business since he was young, Buffet finished university with no debt and a sizeable amount of money, which allowed him to immediately start business partnerships. And while it's true he worked for it, his father's name opened tons of doors for him (not to mention the good money he had to back him up). He was never ever in his life in danger of "failing" like normal people are. For him, "failure" would just have meant going home and taking over his dad's business or enter politics - a FAR cry of what can happen to the average person if they don't succeed.

Bottom line is that Warren learned from observing what his father's clients did with their money. Warren could have sat at home and watched TV, but instead, he made a point of going to work and learning from those who utilized good financial principles. He became substantially richer than his father ever was.

I work in IT, I am not particularly well paid and my co-workers mock me for the car I drive. One of the doors is broken and won’t open it has no air con or internal fans. I chose not to have children and my only pleasure outgoing is some beer each weekend. I have a count down date 2 years 1 week etc. I change it once a week. Nobody noticed until a new employee asked what it was for. I explained that when that number reaches 0 I will be mortgage free . Others over hear me talking about it and asked how I can be mortgage free before I am 40 . I asked them how much their car cost…. $30k , $40k even up to $70k they asked me why I asked and what I drove. I told them my car costs $1k the money they put in their car I put into my mortgage. The penny dropped

It actually works. You treat your savings like you never had them. Then you are forced to sit down and figure out what you can cut down on to make up the money. I guarantee you there is an area where you are bleeding money unnecessarily. Like that morning Starbucks the guy was buying, or fast food, or the temperature you keep your air conditioner set at. There's always something. Just last payday I paid off a credit card that was holding be back in one chunk. My son asked how we were going to make it for the next two weeks. But you know what, today is a new payday and we made it and I don't have that money going out anymore.

When one is wealthy enough, they often buy the $1000 sunglasses as opposed to the $25 or $250 models because the price makes zero difference and they prefer the exclusive option with the superior design and workmanship. Exceptions exist, but this is the norm in the people I know with $100+ million in assets, especially when born into it. However, some men who earned it tend to still buy frugally. (I’ve never seen this with self-made woman though).

It's a good video except, i have never seen a boss who would reward someone for extra efforts, 100% of them are happy to exploit all of their emploeyees with words "Well done boy, you are the best"

This is about 75% true. I was born to a broke single mother I'm worth about four million now, I'm 52. I saw a big mansion and a couple that owned it. A young man laughed because their vehicles were a six-year-old Minivan and a 3-year old Toyota Corolla. I knew that young man would never be rich. The vacation, sharing a condo across the street from the beach versus a five-star hotel on the beach would make that part more sensible.

One day John comes home after staying late at work again to find a note from his wife: "I'm leaving you. I can't live like this anymore. In 20 years of our marriage you never have time for me."

Don't be in a haste to invest. Know what and who you are investing to and be sure that the person will deliver before investing.

There are many dynamics separating rich from the poor. At work I worked late every day and got my work done ahead of schedule under budget. Meanwhile other employees worked weekends just to keep up. Management praised the other employees for working weekends. My manager took on a project nobody would take. Mistakes were made by other people on the project, My manager was demoted because of it, even though we performed well. I know a person with a high school education that died with a million in the bank.

Rod Schmidt it should be worded as “surround yourself with goals driven people”. If you keep surrounding yourself with losers that blame everyone but themselves for their state of living then you will become one yourself. I had to drop out of college because my dad’s company l in Venezuela become nonexistent. I was supposed to inherit it and studied business since literally freshman year of high school to do so. He also decided to have his second child with my stepmom at that time. I could have blamed everything and everyone for never moving up, but I decided to help him for 4 years to build a small company from scratch so he could support my brothers, while also having a part time job to save some money to move across country. When I finally moved, I worked 3 jobs to make ends meet literally working every day until I finally got a full time job I was comfortable with. I was in a very low moment all those years but thanks to always surrounding myself with goal driven people, they helped push me to the reality I wanted.

Continuous learning won't help you climb the corporate ladder, politics will. But climbing the corporate ladder isn't how you get rich except for a very few.

Rich in money is one thing, rich in money and time is completely different. As a corporate person, I don't believe you can be truly rich while working for a big corporation.

There are many poor people that don't even have a vehicle or smart phone or a computer. They wear used clothes and walk everywhere they go. They can go for weeks without spending a dollar. Question: Why aren't they rich? Answer: Low paying job.

I've been doing this in real life for years now. I'm making good income selling about 40-60 products per day on Amazon pretty passively... I must say I didn't see that coming, all thanks thinking of all kinds of ways to make money on the side, educating myself and betting on myself when friends and family did not believe in what was possible. No one supported me... My advice to anyone is to keep your dreams and goals to yourself, then succeed and let your success speak for you.

This vid has some good points, but its way too much "ivory tower" with meritocracy and believing that hard work in and of itself will automatically equate to earning more and getting promoted. In reality, the ability to master the art of "office politics" and social engineering is just as critical if not more than work effort put in. There are people that work very hard, but get passed over because they don't stand out, and there are people that work far less but get promoted with raises because they figured out with areas have the most prominence and ensure their efforts are noticed by the right people. Next, it's been proven that having people save $5 a day not ordering coffee is not going to change their earnings trajectory. You'll have to make bigger sacrifices- like cutting cable, and finding ways to reduce rent/mortgage costs. Finally the old saying rings true- you're likely not going to become wealthy working for someone else- you have to think about being an entrepreneur.

People at work always made comments because I ate out for lunch. 20 days a month at $8 per lunch comes out to $160 a month. I drove a 14 year old hybrid that was paid off and had 3 roommates while they had car leases and $1700 a month rentals

Office politics are just shallow things that can work temporarily, but don't make you trustworthy. The tips in these videos are as simple as diet and exercise is for losing weight. They work and should be common sense. Nothing he said in this video was wrong, they're just the foundation that you build on. You can add networking and good social skills in there sure, but it's better to work on the foundation. Sure hardworkers get passed over, but if they're constantly learning, improving themselves, and investing, it doesn't even matter. If the current workplace doesn't acknowledge all their accreditation, knowledge, experience, and skills, they can just move on to a better paying and appreciative company.

Linus, a midlevel job is enough to become secure over time if you do the right things. Honor God, give to your church, help the poor, avoid debt, live simply, and save all you can. After a few years you can afford to max out your 401K, buy rental property, and pay off your mortgage. Always live below your means. But if you love money and love spending it, you will never have much.

A safer bet would be to buy stocks in weapon manufacturing companies, for instance. And there is my point again; being good and being rich is not necessarily mutually inclusive, and vice versa (poor and 'bad'). Claiming its all about mindset is simply a convenient lie.

"He should read more books to get promoted" I laughed when I heard that! I strongly agree with the general ideas presented here, but my experience is that in the "real" corporate world hard work, smarts, and extensive learning and expertise aren't enough to get you promoted. Do those and become extremely good at what you do to give yourself the pleasure of putting to the lie the ideas that the corporate culture sells you. Ultimately, many of us need to start our own businesses to get "promoted".

Agreed, if you stagnate at a single company you might get a couple promotions at some point but, it's a poor return on your time. I would edit the idea to tie it in with his dinner party "example". If you improve your skill and broaden your areas of expertise you will identify new and better opportunities at other companies. As you say, starting your own venture also becomes an option.

I what I mean by "meritocracy" is that my metric for "merit" is competence in the supposed area that the employee was hired for (or expected to evolve into). I don't exclude the ability to treat people in a civilized matter, but unless the position is by its nature political i.e. management or marketing/sales, I do exclude political abilities. I don't think it's fair to punish say excellent engineers because they might not be really good a manipulating management. What do you think?

@@philmarsh3859 I can't speak for all companies or occupations but, I think most companies like to think they are meritocracies. Unfortunately, the folks making the decisions often don't recognize competence or mistake some other quality (ambition) for it. With portable 401k's, I think the typical competent employee is foolish to trust their career to a single company. Raises and promotions are much more likely to occur by hopping to a competitor and possibly even returning a few years after that. Loyalty is no longer rewarded much. I've been at my job for 23 years and have been poorly compensated for my loyalty. However, I recognized this early and started my own side business as well so it works well for me. Some of my coworkers complain and I always suggest they should test out the job market.

The people who do well are nearly always "politicians" - networkers. More deals were made when people smoked or drank together than in cold boardrooms. They are also typically quite selfish (often very selfish). People who care about others (as in genuinely care) rarely become rich (although they are not necessarily poor).

While I do agree with what you said completely, the hard truth that most people will never be able to start their own business, even if they do start a "small business" they may not become rich out of it, but at least they will not feel controlled or exploited, and sometime that all we need.

I'm gonna have to be honest with you, Bob, You see, Bob, while your video does make some excellent points between John and Tom who had similar backgrounds and similar opportunities, with John having a good attitude to work and money, while Tom had a poor one, which highlights how one managed to get rich, while the other remained 'poor'. Thing is Bob, you forgot poor Bert. Bert grew up in a working class family and lived in a working class neighbourhood and went to school that didn't have the facilities to accommodate Bert's ambitions. Bert's family couldn't afford to send Bert to a different school. Therefore Bert didn't have the same opportunities that both John and Tom had. Regardless, Bert worked hard at school and did well and went on to college, but he worked through college to help his family. Bert left school with reasonable grades, but was unable to get the kind of jobs he would have preferred. Instead he took a low paid job and hoped to gain experience that would eventually lead him to promotion and a better pay. The minimum wages he earned were barely enough to pay the bills in his studio flat, but Bert, unable to afford a latte on his way to work, put some money by each week for night classes. Unfortunately, Tom's company closed down , which meant the smaller retail outlets it owned also closed and Bert found himself out of a job. He could no longer afford night classes and despite all his best efforts, could not find a new job. Bert's future is bleak, Bob. He might, if he's lucky, get another low wage job and after several years hard labour, may one day pay off his credit card debt he's accumulated paying for dance classes for his daughter and to keep his battered car on the road. Got the picture yet, Bob? It's been a year since you posted the video Bob, but maybe Bert will see it and think his whole life has been worthless as you didn't include him in your examples.

Its the truth. I am rich and my brother is still poor. We got the same job with same salary at the same time. He had a credit card. He used iphone when I was using a cheap Sony xperia. He bought a 55 inch Sony OLED TV when I was using a cheap 32 inch LG LED TV. Now he is completely broke. He even doesn't have money for the maintenance of his house. I have always thought that Rich does not mean luxury. The richer you are, the less the importance of the concept of money. The real cool thing about being rich is the freedom of doing whatever you want, without caring about the price. So true! I'll add one more : Tim rents his place, and has never wanted to make the commitment of home ownership. When he retires, he will have zero home equity and will be always having to make rent payments. John, on the other hand, bought a small starter home as soon as he could. A few years later, he bought a home he intended to live in long-term and one less expensive than the banks told him he could afford so he could finance it for no more than 15 years. John pays off this home before he turns 50 and has 15+ years to put his former mortgage payment into his retirement savings.

I had a manager that loved hockey. The only people that got noticed and promoted were those that could yabber on about hockey. People that were actually productive were not only ignored but seen as a threat. But he was secure blaming everyone down the line for low numbers because his boss in head office loved hockey too.

Absolutely! There are litterally 10000+ ways to generate income from work. Only a very few are connected with massive income. Like manager, investment, banker, top attorney, top entertainer, top athlete,... than there are the other jobs that may not paying you zillions, but people are happy because they live a more simpler life, follow dreams that don‘t cost a fortune or generally don‘t like the concept of working all your life for materialistic things/investment success/presige/awards. Sure, for some it‘s important to own that 250k $ car to show off, or sit in the VIP box to see a game, but not everyone wants or needs that.

The rich guy wouldn't have blown the coffee money on a vacation, he would have invested it!

Investment is siphoning money from the poor to the rich. Nothing legitimate in that.

One thing that people always leave out is that yes, it is the mindset that separates the broke from the poor, but it's the MAJOR ACTION that is needed in order to go from one class to another...you dont get rich from working hard, or delaying gratification today ( although you earned every right to it by hard work) denying yourself a Starbuck drink each day until retirement ( which you may never see)...Moving up means taking drastic actions to get there, such as moving away from family and friends to go where the opportunities are, buying Goodwill clothes for the next 10 years just to save enough money to get that house or that business started or invest in the market. I had to give up wearing Nikes for 20 yrs just so I could buy a whole lot of NKE shares. Also had to deny myself lots of things for years just to earn my MBA and still struggling to move up a class. It's tough to deny yourself things that you work so hard for to go to a level that you may never get to. It's a tough set of decisions but are neccessary but how many of us are willing to do it...not many, which is the reason many of us are on the bottom of the pyramid holding up the rich.

The PITA of being a boss isn't worth being rich and I have zero interest in climbing the corporate ladder. I've seen how many hours corporate puts in and they are never home. They even work weekends. I'm not interested in being rich; I want to become financially stable enough to enjoy life and not worry about debt or survival.

My friends and family : How are you able to go on holidays abroad so much, clearly you don't have the money for it. You always wear cheap clothes, have a small house and a shitty car. Me: Have you ever considered that is exactly the reason why i'm able to enjoy my life more than you ?

@sorry mrgoogle I'm not sure where you live but 30K a year in many major cities is not enough to live. Not when a small, dingy apartment costs at least $1,200 a month (and that's considered cheapest-in the ghetto). Then you have expenses like utilities, food, gas, car maintenance, car insurance, (forget medical insurance) and essential home supplies like cleaners and toiletries. All the sudden-that 30K a year person not only doesn't have money left over but most likely goes without most months. I think that comments like yours must come from children who don't know how much it can cost to live or someone who is out of touch with reality because they've never been in said situation.

I agree with everything you say and much of this is in your control. However some of us are not as socially advanced as others. Let me explain: a close friend and I have similar jobs, but he has multiple millionaire friends. He gets to go on nearly free vacations as he gets to stay at guest houses, or gets to stay free at their vacation properties, they have given him free vehicles when they go to buy a new one, he has eaten for free at some of the nicest restaurants around, etc... He gets so much from being friends with the millionaires, that he has more of his own money left to spend on himself and hence even though we make similar money, his social skills have him living WAY nicer than me. He has done me the solid of introducing me to these people, but I just don't have the social skills that allow me to make friends easily. Trust me, I have tried, but there are some SKILLS that people have and some that we don't. I am very successful in my own right and by my own hard work and will never see myself as a victim, but sometimes I am jealous of those people who get by on their good looks and a winning smile...

I'm glad I stumbled upon this. My wife and I works with Phoebe. Before now, we spent more and saved less. This video was absolutely the most tone deaf video I’ve seen on the differences between rich and poor money management. It paints poor people as lazy, lacking priorities, and having little to no control over their impulses. This completely ignores that the poor most often come from poor families and don’t get the help that middle class and above families have to offer. And that’s before we even go into the challenges POC, disabled folks and women face. I couldn’t finish this it wreaks of privilege.

I came from a poor family and I'm a woman and I'm not poor. Poor people aren't lazy, but they are ignorant of how money works. With all the information out there on the internet now they can learn if they want to, but some probably don't even know that because they're searching for stuff they don't need instead of financial channels. A lot of the poverty problem would be solved if anyone who got earn income credit on their tax refund or government assistance had to take a financial/investing seminar.

Probably insulting to suggest that rich people never stop learning whilst poor people are lazy and do nothing productive. Poorer people have to work much harder than well off people to reach the same place.

Agree. Just because a person is poor does not necessarily mean that person is lazy. There are other factors that need to be considered, such as ability to learn new skills for one. If a person has only the skill to clean, and cannot learn anything new, the only way they can increase their income is to get a higher paying cleaning job (as far as I know anyway).

ABSOLUTELY!! I agree with constantly learning, reading and pushing one's self to advance in one's profession so as to increase value and income; along with side projects or advisor. Then be cognizant of spending habits and expenses so that unneeded income goes into investing and gaining assets and not debt. I love my dividends and interest income. Ha Ha @9:00 I was reminded of a Thanksgiving Dinner many years ago when I was offered a great opportunity some where between the mashed potatoes and stuffing being passed around the table.

It's not about winners and losers. It's a decision you can make. Do you want to be happy right now or do you want to sacrifice now to be successful later.?

not necessarily true; there are many hollywood actors and actresses who are rich but they didn't make money when they sleep. Also doctors in general who are in private practice can only make money when they see their patients. Doctors are typically considered rich. This holds true for lawyers as well.

There are celebrities who are good with money and invested wisely and thus make a lot in their sleep. Of course there ones who are not very good with money and had filed bankruptcies.

Am747, there's not much difference between a rich class and a well to do. They're both upper class no matter what. No one will confuse them for a homeless, working class, or middle class person. A well to do person can afford many of the same luxury that the very wealthy can (expensive houses, check, expensive cars, check, expensive clothings, check, fine dining, check, etc). Don't forget that a well to do person, such as a doctor or lawyer, saves money too. They don't necessarily have to invest to become rich. As for celebrities, not all of them invest. There are actors and athletes who make many millions just from their contract alone. I think you're read too much "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and believe a person have to have assets / investments to become rich.

My father one day said to me we are rich and they were pretending to be poor so as to make me humble🙄. Now I own a Lamborghini but most important I now wear cheap clothes.😎

The actual difference between wealthy and poor is that you don't become a billionaire by being kind, generous, or empathetic. Poor people "pay themselves last" because they live paycheck to paycheck, meaning their rich bosses don't pay them enough money to cover their basic living expenses AND put a decent amount toward savings. I'm sure so many, myself included, would LOVE to put $500 away each month in savings and investments. But when your monthly income is $3,000/month or lower, that gets a little tricky, especially if you provide for a family. After you take out rent/mortgage, food, utilities, and all of the things you can't not pay every month, you're left with crumbs, crumbs that you still put away for a rainy day, sometimes over years, but then it gets wiped out with one car repair, one trip to the hospital, one or two months after being laid off. Sure, you can just work hard and your boss MIGHT reward you, but the reward is always more like "well thanks, better than nothing I guess". I've gotten 5 raises over 2.5 years of work at my current job, through a hellish pandemic, and I still make well under the minimum livable wage. Also, take note of the ages of those 69 (nice) self-made billionaires. Christ it's like a damn retirement community made entirely out of gold, interns' tears, and extinct/endangered animal skins. It was way easier to make a fortune before we reached this stage of hyper-capitalism. When those fuckers were the low rung of the corporate totem pole, ass kissing and working hard and playing in the stock market actually yielded results (obviously), not to mention a college education was way cheaper and wages were way fairer. But now those very people control the markets and do everything they can to prevent any assistance to their workers so they continue to be exploited, avoid any accountability by throwing their money at problems, and through legal bribery slowly work toward ensuring Mother Earth dies while they go play spaceman on Mars cuz theyre running out of ideas on how to spend their money. You made an entire video essay admiring a technique of wealth building that doesn't work or even really exist anymore. You are Fry from Futurama booing fellow poor people because you someday MIGHT be that rich. And I mean sure, there are exceptions to every rule, but while only 11 of the top 80 inherited their wealth at the time this was made, when those other 69 rich fossils finally get buried, where do you think all that wealth is gonna go? Certainly not to those who "worked hard" for it...

What separates the rich and the poor is mindset.

Nicholas Harper Library is a great resource to expand your knowledge but in many companies, the minimum requirement for an entry level position is a bachelor degree. But yes, you have to work with what you have. Use library resource while you can’t go to school and save up for a formal education or invest in something.

The rich usually have a good and healthy starting position whereas if you’re born into a poor family, you are more likely to have limited world experience, mental health issues, and stuck in the mindset of always being poor. Yeah there are some cases where a really poor person became rich. But they always had help in some way, wether someone noticed them after years or they got out a risky loan to start a business etc.

If you come from a very rich family, you already have one foot in the door to being wealthy. If you come from a very poor family, it's all uphill climbing. Statistics have shown that a son of a factory worker does not have the same chances of making it to university as a son of a lawyer does.

I do believe so. But it really depends on what you want in your life. If you want to have a little happy family, then u should go for it. But if you want to drive a fancy car, going to expensive vacation, I suppose you will be fine with no kids.

Most tips are not really usable to get rich, like "John needs 500 Dollars extra for his PlayStation therefore he takes another job...." if it would be THAT EASY, there wouldn`t be any homeless people or poor people. Getting a well-paid job, or good salary raises in the existing takes months of job applications, or a good reputation in a company. One can`t go out of the entrance door highly motivated and with good mood "to quickly earn 500 Dollars more" without getting employed somewhere ;) The same goes for all these online-jobs. Like I said if it would be THAT EASY to just shovel endless amounts of money in by just owning a computer, every KZreadr would be a millionaire, every smart person with a laptop would never in life face any financial problems.... everyone would just "build multiple streams of income" if it is that easy and earn endless cash by sitting on the couch with a laptop. The thing with the coffee on the other hand is true, if one buys useless trash-food every day to gain little instant gratifications for 3-5 Dollars daily like the example with the expensive coffee, that costs 25$ every week, 100$ every month and one is loosing 1000$ every year just for buying the daily trash-food.

BS! No boss would be generous and kind enough to voluntarily offer you a big bonus unless you fight telling him that you are worth it. They are stingy .

Not entirely true. If you can show that you brought in a lot of cash once, and if you want that to happen again, you'll want a % of it, then you can get those bonuses. Course, the flip side of that is that you can use an new in innovations for yourself instead of the company too. The company can make more money than you can implementing it by yourself, but by yourself you keep 100% of the smaller profit.

Mostly bonuses are based around how much money your contributions make for the company. The closer you are to actually affecting the company revenue the bigger bonus you get. In my field (Programmer) I normally get a raise and bonus at least once a year.

I enjoyed this vid, until moving up the corporate ladder came up.

Very true with everything listed on this video. The rich constantly learn and grow take risks and know that nothing is secure and safe. While the poor think they already know everything and would rather put others down pick up a beer rather than a buck and complain that they are at a dead end job or complain that they got laid off from their job. The rich also know that anything they do outside of their comfort zone is going to be new with plenty of curveballs down their way and learn how to pivot. The average broke person will not read or change anything and act like they’re better than everyone. The rich constantly learn and grow while the poor think they already know.

I have several degrees and continuously learn, yet, still have not become rich. Luck is what matters a great deal, too...

1. You're not taking into account the factory worker that spent 20+ years climbing the ladder only for the plant to close leaving him under trained for much else. 2. Or the single mother who works 2 jobs and can barely keep food on the table bc her wages don't keep up with inflation. 3. The single mother's child who can't go to uni bc they have to work to help their mother make ends meet. 4. The person who did everything right; spent years getting a master's degree, makes 6 figures, but is still in debt at 40 bc he paid 3x what that degree would've cost 20 years ago even though it's worth is the same. Check your knowledge.

You had 20+ years to do something about it. 2. To answer all the other the other situations. Circumstances happen. But don't use them as an excuse. My Parents lived by with 4 children on almost $800 to $1000 per month when i was in highschool, my 2 brothers still in elementary after my father's business failed. My Mom worked 2-3 jobs 7 days/week. We are all graduates in 4 years of BSN, now im learning business. Im debt free. Paid a 40k car in 2 years on top of all other bills. I understand where you're coming from. My martial arts master had nothing in his pocket after graduating college. He decided to take a loan and build a martial arts gym. got in debt. He barely ate the first 2 years. Worked when sick. Now has two schools, with 8-10 employees. Vacationing like a madman. That's sacrifice. Thats discipline. Thats finding a way not to be poor again. I don't know where you are in your life right now but that kind of mindset, looking for faults and excuses will not help. Like the video suggests, and all the other people who have made it from rags to riches is this, instead of complaining about what you have, find a way to get out of it.

Back in the 1980s I rode my bicycle to work (10 miles round trip) to save the gas in my car. I went back to school to increase my welding skills. There are dozens of ways to save money and to get ahead in this world. I met a girl, moved to her city and changed professions. I became a certified Correctional Officer that paid twice what I made as a welder. My advice to young people: schools and tools are investments for your future.

we're already seeing the concepts in this video play out in 2020. just wait until the evictions and foreclosures begin. I've seen several comments angry or dismissive of the content of this video. It's a little light, but does show common behaviors and mindset of those who create wealth vs those who don't. if you live above your means during times of plenty, you will struggle to survive during times of need. notice most of the businesses hardest hit are restaurants, salons, bars, travel/leisure, gyms, etc., i.e., businesses that cater to lifestyles that many who lived it couldn't afford. now that their customers are unable to pay their bills, or barely survive, these businesses are closing. There are always haves and have-nots; and the have-nots waste their energy in resentment, whining, sniveling, complaining and blaming others for their situation. That won't make a positive change in your situation. That's the mindset they will keep you poor.

One day John died unexpectedly and missed all the opportunities to enjoy his life, and Tim died of a massive hearted attack at a state funded hospital. The end.

Yeah, when I was single I don't cook, and I hung out with friends at fancy restaurants, ordered wine, shopped at the boutiques wearing glamorous outfits. But then I married, I learnt how to cook, wearing my old clothes, have a picnics instead of restaurants.....my husband and I both are healthier and saving more money.

I remember when I still had a flip phone in 2017 when everyone had converted to a smartphone and people would make fun of me. I would then say, "Yes, I have a dumb phone. But I have no college debt, six months of living expenses saved up, I pay off all credit card expenses in full every month, and I'm starting my 401(k)." People would then sink back as if they were reevaluating their lives. By the way, I did end up getting a smartphone for free so long as I used a specific phone service.

While I’m not rich (yet), here’s an example that can help you understand. I used to work at a fun job moving all sorts of cars around Southern California from business to business. We were over 600 drivers. It was an awesome and chill job. But the pay was crap. At $11/hr, I was getting nowhere in life : still living with my parents and recently coming home from college because I couldn’t afford what I wanted to study. Fortunately tho, moving back in with my parents helped me save a lot of money. It took a while but I finally managed to save over $2,000. Took a leap of faith and decided to go for my Class A license (trucking). Here I am now trucking cross country making $60,000/yr. Seeing my first trucking pay check made my eyes glitter lol I’ve never had so much before. I now make enough to buy my own house (which I am in the process), and still have enough to invest and start a business to expand my income (which I am also in the process of). A lot of my ex co drivers are following as they’ve seen the significant financial differences we now have. The point is that we all worked at the same place making the same amount of money. The difference was that I disciplined myself, made a plan, and saved my money for a specific goal. My co drivers just spent their money on random stuff and always complained about never having money. This video is completely true and relevant.

Okay but what about the poor in America? Those actually in poverty. In a household that makes $15k a year? I had to work 35-40 hours a week in high school and maintained a 3.5 gpa to pay for my own college when I realized senior year my parents had no money for me. I graduated with 10k dollars and I am now working on an associate’s degree in web development. 15 credit hours, 6 hours of commute a week, 20-25 hours of work, plus hw. I’m annoyed when people who are middle class talk about being self made and struggling. Imagine everything they went through + the struggles of living below the national poverty income standard + being a first gen student + being Hispanic + paying for your own education. It’s hard to make it out when you’re actually poor not when you live in an average American household. It’s hard when siblings and those around you are falling victims to the statistics of teen mother, incarceration, and drug use. I’m learning more and more that everything is about perspective but I wish people for one second understood for one second how strong and courageous you have to be at times when you’re actually poor.

"Tim never stay late to help the team"..... so, you are telling me that the reason I'm not rich is b/c I'm not working free overhead hours and prefer go out the office and live my life? ..... thank you but no thank you.....
