8 million under flood threat as deadly flood water engulfs Southeast Texas

Hundreds of people and pets have been rescued since Friday, with at least one person dead, as floods sweep across Texas. Some areas reported more than two feet of water, swallowing roadways, cars and homes. NBC News’ Priscilla Thompson has the recovery efforts as parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas remain under flood alert.

Please notice, the footage did not show heavily urbanized terrains. Those are suburban towns, full of gardens, surrounded by wilderness. That's not Houston. Also, you can see most of the terrain is flat and lacking bridges, so, they were not on the route of a river. Please notice that the cause of the flooding is unusually large storms and rainfalls, that locals say they have never seen anything like that, and weather forecasts say the situation is likely to worsen at the level of several states. Please, stop blaming the victims.

Suckered? So nobody is responsible for choosing where they live, its up to someone else where you decide to live? Ridiculous. It may be true that land developers have no morals, but someday people have to take some personal responsibility for the choices they themselves have made. Pretending climate trouble is a hoax is one mistake I'd be willing to bet many Texans made in the last two decades, now they have to pay for that.

Prayers do nothing. Nothing. You have to take precautions, and be aware of the dangers of floodplains and rivers deltas. States have to recognize the dangers that are coming, be prepared, and allocate resources. Because of global warming, and the utter collapse of sea ice, the arctic jet stream has become wild and unpredictable. Warming oceans are also changing the weather patterns, and increasing the intensity of severe weather. Being a year that is post-el nino, this is likely going to be a particularly bad year. The Caribbean is already at the temperature it normally is in June.

The word of the Lord," In my fury I will let loose storm winds; Because of my anger there shall be a flooding rain, and hailstones shall fall with destructive wrath. I will tear down the wall of whitewash and level it to the ground, laying bare its foundations. When it falls you shall be crushed beneath it: Thus you shall know I Am the Lord." Watch and Pray.

I feel so bad for everyone. We had our basement flooded years ago and lost many things but it wasn’t our main floor. So many up in my area of Iowa were hit by tornadoes last week. It is just one misery after another.
