It's insane how a KZread channel that covers highly volatile weather across the entire country can give substantially faster and more accurate information than nearly all regional mainstream media.

It's called hyper-specialization. Ryan can focus all of his time, energy, and wit sharpening his weather reporting and meteorology skills. The news is too broad. A Jack of all trades, master of none, if you will.

I think there’s some confusion here. The NWS puts out the official warnings and Ryan relays those warnings to us. They have regional offices all over the country and are experts. Maybe you meant the Weather Channel on cable which I agree is trash now, they cut to commercials during severe weather and aren’t reliable at all.

As a fellow "former" Midwesterner now living in the PNW, I do not miss these events and the weather. Lol. At most, I may miss the first spring thunderstorm where you can smell it in the air before the rain falls, but that's the extent of it. I count my blessings everyday that and pray that midwestern weather stays away.

I was in this tornado. My daughter, our puppy and I were hunkering down in our bathtub with a mattress over our heads. It was very frightening to hear the sounds of trees falling and debris hitting our home and windows. When the lights went out and the sounds intensified it was clear to the severity of the tornado over us. This is the second time my daughter and I have been in the direct path of a tornado. Many trees and power lines went down. We opened our door after an all clear to find a massive tree directly in front of our porch and our car underneath. We are thankful to be alive, had the tree fallen only feet differently it would have been on top of us. Prayed so hard and God heard us. My car is damaged. Lots of dents , the Windshields very bad , the roof, and side mirror was ripped off. I just recently changed to only liability on my car. (2006) We are thankful that it at least runs. Thank you for helping us to know this was coming and how severe it truly was.

ty for trying to help keep people safe. I live in south west missouri and you have better coverage than our local tv station had. Found out my brother in-law was in the line of the 2 storms and was able to warn him and his family... his truck was hit by a tree but not too bad he said. he lives south of saint louis missouri.

I live in Dawson Springs and was trapped in the December 2021 tornado. I go to the new storm shelter now every time it storms. Wasn't able to watch all of this like normal because we were without power, but I used my phone and tuned in for a few minutes until I lost internet on my phone and heard around the 5-hour mark in the video and was freaking out. Thanks for the coverage and the help Y'all give.

I’ve been waiting all my life to see a tornado, being fascinated by them since I was a child back in the early 70s in Chicago. Thanks to your coverage I was able to look out my second floor bedroom window and witness the Lake Of Egypt (Goreville Illinois) tornado, it had shifted southeasterly very quickly and I had no idea how close it was (you explained the reason that happened very clearly) it passed within a few yards of my home. Thank goodness it had weakened to an F1, lives and property were certainly saved. You and your crew are a national treasure THANK YOU

Last night around 8, my sister sent me your link, I started watching and subscribed, because this is how weather should be done, thank you for this channel. As I was watching and keeping up with your warnings, I keep checking on tv about local warnings, I hate to say it but we had none, just watches. I know there was severe everywhere else, but I was grateful you all told of things in Indiana. Also some where around ten last night to eleven, we in central (all) had a black out. It lasted till mid night, then we had a few thunderstorms. This morning they said it was the storms , but we had no storms near us at the time the power went out. The storms came after the power came back on. Last count I heard before mid night was 22,000 with out power , instantly, but in northern KY, you all were reporting the Dawson springs ky? ,that massive tornado. My point is to share the info, and thank you all for what you do.

I wanted to add, no news covered storms before power went out here. You all reported Evansville, Ind. And places in indiana, , I'm just wandering about it all. And I know it is a holiday, but nothing this morning about any of those awful storms, out of ky, or mo.just Texas Arkansas, ect..

5:08:39 hey heres a quick reason as why the hook is a donut the way reflectivity works is they send scans out, once taken the scans are collected in data and updated to the radar, but if something blocks it in mass, like debris in this case, then it will not be able to scan the full potential of that area and it comes back as weaker than it is. thanks

That's two strong wedge nocturnal tornadoes that has hit my town and missed my house by less than a MILE in the last 2 years.. (I live right outside dawson springs). By the time last nights tornado got to barnsley/earlington ky, it's path literally CROSSED paths with the dec 10th tornado in 2021... Its actually insane. A man I work with, lost his home and everything he owned back in dec 10th 2021, and he literally just lost it all again last night. The odds are astronomical

I've seen some of the in car footage from this night and one person, It could have been Bryce's, looked like it had a green tint and all the houses looked white, I am wondering what camera and setting he used for video to see the tornado so clear in near darkness? Thank in advance to anyone who knows. BTW, watching this on KZread was more accurate than the local TV. The two stations available to me only had a box up in the corner of the TV. My family was able to move to a safe place before the NWS blasted all our phones. I live in Southern Indiana. Keep up the good work Brother Ryan... You probably saved lives on the 26th.
