Very useful.. informative about the types of bulbs we can use. I might ask the dealer as I am not sure I can risk doing it myself

It's very straightforward. If you wear work gloves to avoid oils on the glass itself, it can be safer

Thanks for the review! I've been researching the Hyper Arros specifically since their color tone is not too cold. Other alternatives (including my Osram LEDs and their new road legal version) are always around 6000k, which is almost blue. So these should be a good compromise in between the stock bulbs' yellow and the very cold white almost all manufacturers are using.

No problem, thank you for watching As an update, the PIAA bulbs failed after around 18 months, however the OSRAM Night Breaker laser bulbs I replaced it with barely lasted about 6-9 months. And they're of very similar cost!

It did come up as an option as well as NBL and White Vision. I think these are slightly better just for colour temperature

Useful information on the UK legal requirement for self leveling and headlamp washer system - I see why MG Motors didn't fit LED headlight bulbs. So I've bought and fitted the Hyper Arros but I'm not impresses. I can't say they are +120% possibly 120% of the standard bulb (so only +20%) as they are both 60 watt bulbs in any case. The colour difference is had to see having changed the pair, I guess I might have notices a slight difference if I had tested and compared with one of each. Any colour difference is probably down to the blue coating on the bulbs and not to over running the filament to run it hotter.

Hi, yes I would say that packaging to say they're +120% is misleading, however I would definitely say they are an improvement over the OEM bulbs. Especially at night on high beam it's a big difference. The colour temperature is slightly whiter then the Phillips OEM, but I wouldn't say it's such a difference to justify purchasing purely for the colour (as I referred to, halogen bulbs are still halogen).

Can I ask what interior LEDs you used as I noticed on your older videos your in the dark but visible, but now your in the dark and barely visible? I fitted LEDS to my ZS and didn't think they were so bright, but then I made a video last night to test the brightness as picked up by my phone camera and I'm entirely lit during the video.

Just some cheap ones off Amazon. I was hoping for some more but it seems it didn't work (Funnily enough it looked better when I was recording, but reviewing the footage it wasn't as good). Have you got any recommendations?

I'm planning on buying some frontlighting in the future, and if I can record during the day more often. I also need a wireless microphone for next video :)

Quite expensive but seem a decent bulb, I've looked at PIAA before buy always balked at the price. Might I recommend you try some Ultra Power Bulbs when/if you have issues with your PIAA units. They are budget at around £7 a set, also UK road legal. I used these for a long time on my Zoe (reflector bulb units too) and now my ZS EV and they are really decent at the price.

I didn't think it was too bad, given that £23 is roughly the price of the Osrams and Phillips equivalents. That being said, £7 a set is a bargain, even OEM Phillips or Osrams are around £10-11 each.

Hi. Are they really a vast improvement from the standard halogens in terms of visibility? If so, are they one of the longest high-performance halogens out there? Thanks.

Yes most certainly, but I wouldn't immediately go out your way to buy them and replace perfectly good bulbs, unless you want a slightly less yellow light. Another issue is that they don't last as long. Mine lasted ~12-18 months I think. Don't buy Osram Nightbreaker, my set lasted 6 months!

@@KCTalksEV Thanks! So do you think it's not a worthy upgrade? Do you use your headlights every night? Do you have any experience with Philips halogens? Sorry I have so many questions. I find your vlog very informative. I'm planning to upgrade my stock bulbs for something stronger or that offers better visibility at night.

Ask away, here to help! Pretty much use them every night in the late summer to late spring. Probably about 2-3 hours per day when you average it out across a year. These PIAA hyper arros are definitely an improvement for visibility for sure. That being said, as they are halogen, don't expect a vast improvement unlike going from halogen to LED. Going to LED though without the right certification (essentially must be a factory fit) is technically illegal as it will not pass an MOT.
