I'm flabbergasted, the amount of power, speed and fight in that fish for its size is actually memorizing and incredible. I initially thought the fish was bigger than what it turned out to be. I can confidently say that, that bone fish fights like a 80-90cm longtail tuna if not harder. Wow.

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzread.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

New Caledonia Briggsy? Caught 47 on my first 3 days on Christmas Island back in 2014. Best was 70cms. Lot of small ones there though. Had GT’s to 35kgs cruising past us in waist deep water. Awesome place😊

Caught a bunch of those here in Hawaii. My biggest is 13# but they grow bigger. On really light tackle I had one about 7# at my feet and he went berzerk! Straightened my tiny hook (I was going for small game on a 7' ML bass rod) and got away. Nice video man! Love the flats as that's my backyard.

Don’t know if I’m anywhere nr the ballpark but the Bonefish is like a giant Whiting crossed with a Threadfin Salmon but also on turbo boosters. The amount of great runs that fish took. As far as I’m concerned Briggsy is Mr Sportfish Australia. Wow could that be any more exciting and I wasn’t even doing it.

as soon as that fish takes off you can see the water displacement ripple on the surface.. that shit is amazing.. never really seen that before at least not like that.. nice video guys.. and nice fish too

Briggsy! Loving the content. So good! Can you do us a favour and slot some sort of quick intro in so that we know roughly where you’re at and what you’re doing? Maybe it’s just me, but I get a bit lost sometimes without that! Legend!

Great fish, awesome take. I get the need to document such an amazing fish, as I have before. Good rule of thumb is to hold your breath the entire time the fish is out of the water, just as it is. Also, bones don't survive well when rubbed against clothing which rubs off their slime and can can cause them to die later.

Bonefish are pound for pound the hardest fighting fish ever. I went fishing for them a bunch in sand Diego and even just a 2-3lb fish fights like a 10 pound bass. It’s insane. Not another fish that can scream drag like that

Great video - really helpful if you are trying to learn how to spot bonefish on the flats.
