7mm Magnum vs Whitetails - 630 Yard Shot
In this video I fill my doe tags using the Tikka T3 7mm RM. After extensive testing with the GRS Berserk stock and the Sightron SIII scope, I felt very confident in this rifle's ability to perform at long range. Special thanks to Garrett for taking time out of his vacation to capture these awesome hunts on camera. Another big thanks to Doug, opticsandoutdoors.com , for sending the Sightron for testing. We really made great use this excellent scope. The rifle season isn't over yet, so stay tuned for more deer hunting! Thanks for watching.

Keeping it real as usual! Well done, a very nice shot indeed!
Wow man unreal. Watched the shot no joke 15 times so crazy! Just bought a 7mm rem mag and I have no regrets at all!!
Excellent choice of load, great shots.
Nice shot! thanks for sharing.
Nice shooting! the 7mm strike's again!
Great video , happy to see you use a 7mm too .
Well done! I'm glad you mentioned the Hornady ELD - X bullet you used. I've been researching bullets lately and everything I've read about the ELD - X has been real good. I'm gearing up for an elk hunt here in Arizona this fall and I've decided to use the 178 grain ELD - X in my .300 Win. Mag. Good performance and mushrooming at long distance yet strong enough to hold together at closer ranges. Real exciting stuff to be sure. Once again, congrats on your hunt.

Thanks again. I've been a huge fan of the 178gr Amax in my 300WM. This channel has a lot of history with that bullet and rifle. It is crazy accurate and perhaps overly devastating. It behaves more like a heavy varmint bullet than anything. I have not tried the 178gr ELD-X, but I'm sure it will work really well. I use 75gr of RE22 and get easy half minute groups with 3000fps to back it up. Let me know how it works for you. Thanks for the comment.
Very Good. Thin the herd. Meat in freezer. Great experience with family & caught in on film for the record. Good shooting son. I am a 7mm Rem mag fan & have been for 3 decades. Nice country. I have some friends a bit east of Buffalo. Beautiful area. Wonderful folk.
I can't get over a 350yard shot where I hunt, it's nothing for my 7Mag to be honest. That was an awesome shot, you can tell you know your set up well.
great job!!!
You can see the bullet curve a little bit. What a shot!
Lovely shooting again great videos my 8 year old nephew loves to watch as well
wow, that was an incredible shot
Some Marine Corps Scout Sniper shit there rascal. Excellent display of marksmanship and trusting your weapon and optic.
Sick final shot earned a sub "that's easy tracking right there" haha
Good rifle. Great shooter. I know you test your loads a lot. Very responsible to know what your rig/ load combo is capable of. I want your viewers to avoid taking “pop shots” at distance. We need to know what our rifle will do. Great job. Some of those wood chuck shots you make are incredible!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you. There was a lot of practice and testing behind this rifle setup. Otherwise, I would not have taken such a far shot.
Dang good shot. Way to go.

Damn nice shot!!
How arw the exit wounds at longer range? With this 162gr eldx? And good blood trails, if the are not drt?
At 6:00 !!!!!! Love your laugh!! Ha ha! Dropped her in her tracks!!
Awesome. Clean kills. Great fun, great food. I have a beautiful Ruger stainless steel M-77 7mm mag, with a matching Leopold scope (I don't know off hand which model) that I am not allowed to hunt with in the area that I hunt in (I got the setup as a gift from my dad). Nice to see you guys able to exercise these sweet weapons/rounds. Have a great hunting season this year. I am limited to straight walled cartridges, slugs, or muzzle loading, where I am at (I do mainly straight walled cartridges now), but I intend to have a good hunting season, nonetheless (lots of deer that I can take out within 200 yards or less). Thanks for posting. God bless.
Excellent shots. Both will be some good eating.
7 mag = get 'er done. I handload 140 grain Nosler BTs for mine. When it comes to venison steaks, chops, and burgers, it's as dependable as an Eastern sunrise.
What's on your back in the second half of the video?
Awesome videos guys just sub'd all the way from northern Alberta Canada !

How are those ELD's workin for ya, from the looks of it pretty well!

I have been very impressed with the ELD-X. The first test load I tried in the 7mm grouped under a half inch. I've been running the same recipe ever since. I am especially impressed by the terminal ballistics on the ELD-X. Thanks for watching!
Great shooting!! Is this originally the Tikka t3 hunter with the sporter weight barrel?
@ChuckinTV

Yeah, this is the same gun that's been featured in a lot of my videos. I am thoroughly impressed with the Tikka T3s with or without the GRS stock. I'll list all the other videos featuring this gun in the description. Thanks for watching!
Nice!!! any wind dialling? Looked pretty calm. God's Love to 7mm Harvests!
@ChuckinTV
6 жыл бұрын
There wasn't any wind that day. That is why I felt confident to take such a far shot. I practiced with this setup a lot over the summer so I knew my elevation adjustment was spot on. Wind is a lot trickier and I wouldn't have been comfortable with too much. Thanks for watching!
Great shooting man! I was able to take out a small buck at 283 yards this year with my Tikka CTR 308. I really enjoy your videos! Really exciting when the long range practice turns into Venison most folks would have to watch walk by
@ChuckinTV

Thank you sir. It's too bad I haven't seen a decent buck on the farm yet. So I figured it was time to harvest a couple of doe. I didn't actually expect to make a 600+ yard shot, but with low wind I felt very comfortable making that shot. Happy shooting!
Molto bravo.
Let the 7 mags eat love it
I was going to say this was not 630 yards! Your bullet traveled less than half a second. Then I heard you say 230 yards. Nice shot!
@ChuckinTV
6 жыл бұрын
Haha. Thanks. 230 yards doesn't seem very far with this set up. With the 24x zoom I felt like that deer was only 50 yards.
What kind of bullets? I watch a lot of your videos and I know you handload but what is your recipe? Haha

162gr ELD-X with 64gr Re-23. I'm getting about 2900fps from it. Thanks for watching
What brand rear bag are you using?
@ChuckinTV
5 жыл бұрын
It is an Allen. It is actually a front bag that I use for rear support, but it works! I do wish it was a bit higher for my 9-13" bipod. I have a hard time shooting across even ground with it. It does fine for shooting up hill though.

We do not, sorry. I appreciate that.
Might switch from a .270 it dropped one at 400 yards but it took 3 shots to figure out where my bullet was flying due to drop a .7mm will definatley make that shot no problem
@ChuckinTV
5 жыл бұрын
The 7mm will still have a significant drop at 400yds and beyond. The best way to make that shot consistently is to have a reliable scope and to figure out what to dial for a given distance. Also tons of practice. A 270 is an easy 400yd cartridge if you know the ballistics. Thanks for watching.
Sorry I was looking at the first deer

Doe popping from the road. Great way to take meat but I myself wouldn't publish it. No bragging rights earned.
@ChuckinTV
5 жыл бұрын
I get where that's coming from for sure. I wouldn't consider this bragging at all. At least it is not intended to be that way. It's just a testament to the system that I am using. That includes the rifle, scope, and ammo. I would not have been confident in either of these shots if I hadn't done my homework before hand. I was just taking the best opportunity I had to get my deer that season. I realize there isn't a whole lot of context in video.

why not learn to stalk and try and get i to 100m of the deers..yes we can all shoot long range but try and outwit the deer with fieldraft...
@ChuckinTV

My strategy in hunting is to make the best of any opportunity that is presented to me and to use the best tool for the job. I can get very close to deer when the situation calls for it. Check out my deer hunt from last year: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mZmOp7Cnn7bUp6g.html. The wind was too heavy for long range shots, so we had to improvise a spot and were within 100 yards of the deer. I also archery and muzzle load hunt, both requiring to get in close. So to answer your question: I use stalking and ambushing methods for majority of my deer hunting. In the case of this video, I had a rifle that is designated for hunting in open fields. There was hardly any wind for this shot. Plus I have a ton of practice with this particular rifle set up. I wouldn't advocate taking such a far shot unless you are well practiced and the conditions are right to do so.

Why would you do that? You might be a lucky shot, but you’re a lazy hunter...
@ChuckinTV
4 жыл бұрын
Please watch my other content before you go and call me lazy or lucky. I've spent a lot of time developing and testing hand loads for this set up. I have shot many groundhogs well over 500yds as well. I took a shot of opportunity that I was confident in.
