I was raised on farms and ranches and did a lot of this kind of shooting when I was a young man. Watching your videos brings back a lot of fond memories! I still shoot but not like I got to back then. Eventually, rifle shooting got to be to easy so I went full time "Elmer Keith" on chucks and ground squirrels and only recently got back into rifles. Thanks for posting such great chuck shooting videos with skilled shooting in them guys!

Just going to plant a seed. .338 Lapua Magnum is your next logical rifle to add to the chuckin' program. I hear 2 out of 3 woodchucks ask for it by name. Do it for the chucks.

i love 7mm mag great rifle for anything really.

I mean no offense when I say this. I own a tang safety M77 in 7mm Rem Mag. I absolutely love it. It’s just when I see these videos I think to myself, “Damn, that’s a lot of gun for a groundhog.” Excellent shooting, fellas. Keep me coming.

I own over 50 calibers of rifles, but I think the .300 Wby Mag is my favorite magnum caliber. It hauls ass.

The 7 mag is a good wind bucking gun. CH

Thanks. At the time of this video, I was running the Leupold VX2 4-12x. I was able to get 2 hits on a chuck at 620yds with that setup. That footage is on my Tikka Hunter review. Since then, I upgraded the stock and scope. Check out my more recent videos. Thanks for watching.

That's a tough question. I like them equally I'd say. Its all in what bullet weights you want to use. The 7mm has a higher ballistic coefficient at much lower weights than the .308 diameter bullets. To put it in perspective, I shoot the 162gr ELD-X out of my 7mm with a bc of .62. I would need to shoot a 210gr in the 300WM to approach that bc. The 300 has a higher powder capacity and has an edge on initial velocity. My 300WM is a little more accurate than my 7mm, but that's because I've had a lot more time with it and load testing. The 7mm is already a .5moa shooter with only 150 rounds through it.

I had the Leupold VX-2 4-12x CDS on the Tikka at the time. Anthony's 700 7mm has a Redfield Revenge 6-18x

Crazy to hit targets that far without dialable turrets, how do you do it? What's that reticle like?

7mm mag is fairly large caliber, kind of want to see what it does to the groundhog in the aftermath. I know its a little twisted to ask but I need to know lol

Well, I can tell you, in the right place, the bullet will usually cut them in half at closer range
