Sup man just wanted to give a quick follow up since my card arrived yesterday. My "benchmark" is modded Skyrim with a very unoptimized performance hungry ENB, lots of additional trees and gras, some 4k and 8k model textures mixed in. The 6800 XT used to manage 60 FPS only in interior cells (dungeons, houses, inns etc), was around 45 in the open world, and down to ~35 FPS in Falkreath and Hjaalmarch region due to vegetation density and/or water effects. The 7900 XTX has 60 in the open world and around 57 in the two mentioned regions. It still manages to cap the card at 100% in the open world, hotspot temperature was up to 87 degrees during playing. So my Sapphire Nitro+ is working within acceptable parameters. Lenght of this model was the same as the ASRock 6800 XT, but it's a bit taller. 750W PSU was enough to handle the card running at 100%. Secondly, I failed to install the 6800 XT into my secondary rig. Didn't fit. I also accidentally rendered that rig unoperational because I kinda plugged out all cables, opened all plastic covers and can't figure out what belonged where. Wanted to swap the PSU but Dell was kind enough to make that near impossible by bolting certain things within the case in place. Also found out the board can't slot DDR4. Never seen so many cables inside a pc case man... bit off more than my limited knowledge self could chew. And their case design is really shit... the amount of 10 years worth in dust I cleaned out of the formerly hidden lower and frontal areas, lol! Guess it's time to retire the old bugger after ten years.

honestly for the avg joe I think 1440 is just fine. RT is just kinda a gimmick in this day n age plus even if your spending 500-700 you'd expect to be able to max out games no problem. with new titles begin more demanding honestly 4k just seems excessive. my rig is on 6800 non xt and 1440 is just the sweet spot for higher framerates around 80-160 maxxed out on most titles. in ac vallhala I occasianly get dips in the 50s but the matter of the fact is my 2500 PC can output 4k however 1440 is where its best ability is at.

Yeah, honestly between a 1440p and 4k monitor I see almost no quality difference, for me I play in my living room and a 75in. But if you are playing on a 27in. monitor getting 4k seems pretty pointless so I totally agree with you 1440p is perfect.

I wanted a 7900XT to upgrade my 1080ti ive had since 2017... But ill be honest, when it came out in Dec for 900$ i went ehh... I also needed to buy a new 27 inch 1440p curved monitor, my viotek from 2017 was dying.. So because i had to buy a monitor and after i saw waterblocks for the 7900xt STILL dont exist, and that companies want 200$ for a xtx block, when they used to be 100-150$ for prior gens.. i decided to not get the 7900.. So i got my monitor, a 5800x 3D, 16gb more memory for 32gb, and i got a new NVME drive, as my 970 evo plus is only 500gb (4 years ago they were 200$ for 500gb) so i got a 2tb nvme gen 4 drive.. For my video card i got a 6900XT on ebay with a waterblock for $600.. and it overclocks to 2700 core.. 2150 memory tight timings, and with my water cooling its only at 48c tops, with that overclock i get about 8-10fps more from the stock 6900xt speeds. I also sold my 1080ti with waterblock for $320.. so in essence i got a 6900xt for $280. Im happy i didnt get the 7900xt.. the $600 i saved, is what got me the 5800x 3D from my 3800x and the memory and nvme and monitor.. (sold my 3800x for $150)
