I think A New Dawn, because it is one of the few nVidia demo's that renders a detailed environment together with a highly detailed character.

The ones from 1999 are insane for the time. Brilliant video

For a long time, PC graphics were leaps and bounds ahead of what was available on consoles. I used to love downloading the latest nvidia tech demos just to see if my computer could run them. I remember the wolfman demo running at like 5fps lol. I found it fascinating to look at the advancements in reflection and water graphics. The 1999-2000 demos bring back some fond memories. It was fun time to be a kid and into computers.

because the old ones were fascinating for the time and were showing what could come in the future while nowdays all thos demos are already achivable in games so to us they dont look anything special

Its seems, you only took the demos Nvidia currently lists, but sadly, they missed a few. E.g. Nalu Demo from 2004, which was mermaid with very beautiful long hair. She is actually hidden on the Geforce 6 card even in this video in the top left corner. Actually someone found out that Nvidia removed all demos with female characters, quite some iconic, but too sexy now? They are Dusk, Dawn, Nalu, Luna, Adrianne, Medusa and A New Dawn

Once upon a time we were looking at the latest tech demos (also the 3d marks and others). Now it's all forgotten, I didn't even know there are some new ones. But we got old or graphics have so matured that I am not as impressed anymore.

*UNIGINE* is not an NVidia demo. It is a Russian graphic engine, mostly used in industrial and military applications. They did the demo that was useful for benchmarking, though.

I remember the RIVA/ TNT/TNT2 tech demos from 1998(i.e. Principles of 3D, the city, the courtyard, etc. ) and I've been looking for them all over to no luck. If anyone could hook me up, I would greatly appreciate it.

You didn't include any of the Dawn tech demos so this is not the complete list

Tell me you have runned them all with an rtx because it's impossible such graphics, I had a ps3 and it wasn't this good

These were tech demos, so they were no games that could run on PCs at the time either. Even PS2 was able to pull of a realistic old man head. Plus PS3 should made Zoltar easily, look at Joel facial animation.

That Toy Soldiers demo was captured pretty badly. Did you use an old Video Toaster from the 1990s? LOL! :)

*THE DEMOS ARE NOT EQUAL.* Some are just multi-hour rendering with the acceleration by a video card, and they look amazing even now, and others are real-time demos, which look as bad as expected, judging from 2023.

That human head demo looks really fucking good

Atomic Heart has abandoned ray-tracing, preferring more board optimisations for more PCs instead. The game is outstanding still, though.

Where are all the Fairy and Mermaid demos - you obviously made this video after NVIDIA was attacked by the WOKE and cancel culture fears... 2020 September they removed any demo with female characters... the fairy was their trade mark for years
