I did notice on my 790 adv r that the lower setting was much better aswell. Excellent Video.

I only removed the side wings. The standard windshield in high position. Perfect for me.

I got an MRA X-Creen Sport Add-On Variable Windscreen Spoiler for my last two bikes. They're made in Germany, adjustable, and can be both clamped and bolted on. Fixed my buffeting issues on both bikes. And no need to buy a new windscreen. No regrets. 👍

What worked for me was to change the mirrors to quick flip bar end mirrors and keep the wind screen in lower setting. I am 6 foot tall or 183 cm. Turbulence greatly reduced. I wear a helmet with a visor. I have not tried removing side air foils.

I did all the same testing as you. What worked best for me was removing the winglets and adding a clamp-on wind deflector to the top of the windscreen. Low or high position doesn’t matter, no buffeting and I can ride at 75mph with my helmet visor open. I got one from Aliexpress, $25 or so from China. Takes a few weeks to show up, but it’s inexpensive. I’m 5’9” riding a low seat

I have a Klim TK1200 helmet and it does a good job at minimizing buffeting with the shield in the low position but I still get strong wind pressure above 75 mph. The high position is terrible and have not come across one person who likes that setting. Don't know what KTM was thinking there. I don't mind smooth, high pressure wind for a while but the force still becomes fatiguing over a long ride. I prefer one of those clip on 'visors' to mitigate both wind pressure and buffeting for warm weather and a Puig touring shield for full coverage in cold weather.

My best solution is the Puig Racing Screen with the Touratech TT Spoiler. Tested with the Shoei GT Air2 and the Airoh Commander. You still get wind but no vibrations!

I tried a little add on smoked plexiglass wind deflector purchased on Amazon for $35 CAD It did cut down on wind noise and turbulence Other more expensive alternative is to buy 790S screen

my 790 Adv S screen on high position annoyed me greatly today into a strong and buffeting southerly wind. I've lowered it and will take off the winglets tomorrow (didn't help that I had paper in my ears since I'd left in a hurry minus ear plugs)

How does the 790 R compare to your Husky 701? I'm either buying to 790 R or 701LR this year and wanted to get your thoughts

@@jonasbaine3538 I ended up getting a 2011 KTM 990 Adventure. Amazing bike and it does everything I was looking for in an adventure bike.

The problem with this wind buffeting and noise levels. It is so individual. I'm 200cm tall, and dont have any issue with it, others may struggle alot with it. with that said... some are extreamly sensitive to that kind of noise and should probably drive a car 🤣🔥Great video mate. Cheers from Norway

I am 203cm on 1190 Adventure. I installed smal puig racing shild in low position. Buffeting is okay but wind still very loud compared to other bikes.

What's the vibration like on motorways? Will it sit 80mph for an hour without numbing your fingers?

I've done 400 mile days on my 890. The seat is the worst thing. There is vibration over 4,000rpm it's very high frequency vibration but isn't really a big issue.

has anyone tried removing the handguards or moving them around? I am trying to do different things tomorrow before I try buying a tall screen. I hear the top of stock handguards causes some turbulence

I removed the small winglets and with both my helmets, Shoei GT Air 2 and KLIM Krios Pro the buffeting has now gone regardles of whether I have the standard adventure R screen in the high or low position

I did buy a high Puig touring screen and that worked quite well but prefer the shorter screen off road, BTW I am 5'11. If anything this screen has slight buffeting when compared to no winglets. Also the tall screen makes it hot riding off road but does stop your helmet visor getting dirty

Now will stick with the standard screen with no winglets unless on a really long road trip

I added a Puig wind deflector and that is working well for me. I am only 175 cm tall though. Cheers

Yes - works well for me 1.8 m with a off road helmet. I have s in low position.

I did today for several hundred kilometres. I'm 180cms (5'11") and was riding into a strong, blustery southerly. It was horrible. I've just lowered the screen and will try again tomorrow before doing same with winglets removed later

This bike as ugly as it it is stock now it's even uglier :) damn, why they dropped 1090R styling...
