I vaguely remember a AWD r34 tearing every supercar off the line in a massive drag race. But it quickly fell behind. Off the line against a professional in a r34 is a pipe dream 😂

that M3 makes incredibly efficient use of it’s power with that 8spd transmission. It’s geared perfectly for that engine.

Even if it's a 30 year-old car, it kept up with a recent BMW M3 Comp and a recent Ford Mustang. For me, that's the real winner right there.

As a lifelong BMW owner the figures BMW give when it comes to power measurements aren't that far off from the wHP, there is a lot less drivetrain power loss due to many of the components like water pump, power steering pump etc being electric rather than mechanical, it's a rather simple but clever way of eliminating drivetrain power losses. Whereas with the Mustang even though it has a supercharger the entire rolling assembly is a belt driven mechanical setup, couple that to a torque converter slushmatic and there would be a considerable amount of power lost when measuring wHP instead of horsepower at the crank. It would also explain to non BMW drivers why the non-electric BMW have an energy regeneration system (BMW EFFICIENT DYNAMICS) fitted as well that recuperates lost energy from braking.

Manuwl gtr with manual clutch is so dope 🔥

I love how these cars are put through their real world scenarios. Missed shifts due to old gear boxes, limited grip due to lack of traction control, limited boost due to god knows what. Sure a car might be amazing on paper, but these tests show you what happen in the real world. How the hell BMW won is a testament to technology over brute force.

@@DssRSTi totally agree. This is a “Trash Channel” for overrated German cars. How about telling the viewers that the German government has mandated recycled plastic in all German cars? Do you think at high performance temps that these plastics will last? Of course not! That is why Porsche’s all have plastic impeller blades from their water pumps, break off and are stuck in the engine! Also my GTR has ONLY 600 rwhp on a Mustang Dyno and can do high 10’s. The BMW is a 12 SECOND CAR in the real world.

@@keagan8911 Yes it can but it has done 11.3s and 11.6s in Carwow drag races. I am not exactly sure about the 11.4s mark but you get the idea. RS6 usually does between 11.2s and 11.6s

@@manenwan Possible because the last time the M5 competition was in a Carwow drag was between Rimac Nevera, Taycan turbo s and the M5 competition. M5 competition's time was 11.5s

Now I’m just sitting here wondering how much it actually has. Clearly it’s not 510 hp, could be almost 600 or around 600 hp. Of course it’s not press car as some haters would say cause customer cars have proven BMWs are fast. Just don’t really get why BMW has to lie about their figures/stats. Can’t wait to see the M5 CS though. Saw a video on instagram where the M5 CS (stock) beats an ABT RS6 (740 hp), on rain.

It may have 550-580hp, but it still less than other two, so BMW is a beast, or sky and mustang are pieces of rubbish

I love how these drag races tell us virtually nothing lol they're not always fair or scientific, half the cars are not available as specced, these are purely for shits and giggles and that just makes me happy

@@cedb7115 they perform as long as its the correct mods for the type of use that you intend. I mean you can easily make a car handle better on roads and track with just polybushing the stock suspension so it's not under strain anymore and everything can move more freely without any geometry changes. However if you buy a mega expensive suspension package that requires set up for each use.. and expect it to handle good on track and the next day expect it to feel good at 170mph on UK motorway then you will need to adjust the suspension every time you do either. Engine performance wise the same applies. If you swap out two small turbos for a large one then you best expect the thing to be an off and on switch as lag turns into boost, therefore its utterly useless mod for someone doing lots of B-road or track. If you accidentally throw money at a suspension that doesn't suit your favourite B-road and then you go swapping to single turbo setup then you will 100% make the car useless on said road. I know what you mean man but I think the correct mods for the type of use will be better than stock every time.

Even with a 200hp deficit, that M3 sweeps the Mustang. It really goes to show power is nothing without control. That Mustang was sliding all over. As for the R34, it had a manual so it was not really comparable.

Yeaaaaa that mustang wasn't anywhere near 735 hp lol, my bullitt can do the quarter in mid 12's and it's a manual with 480 hp, and running drag slicks with no burnout? Might as well not even bother trying to launch it

I have a 760whp procharged Mustang GT and it would eat this mustang up. He was on drag radials which require a smoky burnout to actually get sticky for traction. We can't see if he did or didn't but judging by how much tire spin he had, one can only assume he was running on a cold radial.

that car is built for a prepped surface so no wonder it lost. 750hp to the rear wheels is a lot to handle even on a prepped surface.

Would like to see the dyno graph for the skyline no chance it's 750, at that power awd it should be running 10s even on a no prep surface

After being an owner of a Nissan Skyline R34 (GTT) RWD and All Wheel steering, I would say, you can drive a fast BMW (common sighting) or a Mustang (great V8 sound) but a turbo R34 will put most amounts of smiles on your face. From day-to-day driving...

As a BMW fanboy I honestly didn’t expect it to do as well as it did against such powerful opponents.

It's mid-range speed is very strong. I think it launches in second gear to reduce wheel spin. Going around corners is where it is superior to the larger sedans and estates.

I would literally play for days at a time missing school and neglecting my hygiene just so I could beat my friends when we would get together and race each other. I loved the good old days when you had to be together to actually race each other 😉The 1999 Nissan GT-R V spec (R34) 276HP @ 6800RPM 289.3LB-FT @4400RPM Engine code RB26DETT close second was the Escudo Pikes peak although this was the fastest car it wasn’t as desirable and achievable like the GT-R That games created a generation of car enthusiast and I will forever be a fanboy of the GT franchise and no matter what the GT-R LOSES TO I ALWAYS MAKE EXCUSES AND REFUSE TO BELIEVE ANYTHING IS FASTER😂
