7-year-old Tibetan grand lama’s initiation | SLICE | FULL DOCUMENTARY

Kalou Rimpoche is a 7-year-old grand lama of Tibetan Buddhism, believed to be reincarnated from one of the leading grandmasters in recent times. Ahead of the Kalachakra, the ceremony integral to Tibetan Buddhism, Rimpoche has two friends visit him from abroad.
The three children have formed a friendship which transcends language, beliefs and cultural differences. As the ceremony, rich in colour and enlightenment, proceeds, the children discover more about each other and learn that differences can be enriching.

Very educative. I love his videos. About suffering. Buddhas favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt.

Sadly the boy, his parents and his mentor were taken by the mainlands police in early 1995. In 2002 I believe it was, his mentor was released but some time shortly after he was silenced. As for the boy and his parents, I believe the worst sadly. Knowing the mainland government and how much they were pushing to have one of their own as the next Dali Lama, was so the mainland could have control over the people it basically exiled. I pray for the strength and safety of the Tibetan people. 🙏 If the boy and his family were "sent away" to the next life. I strongly believe he'll return and prove himself as this boy reincarnated.

Very high quality documentary. The way both sides treated each other with respect. I am always mixed. On the one hand yes, you can argue that this is not a proper way to raise the child and you rob their childhood BUT considering if you look at modern families the most raise their child wrong, don't give them even respect and the child also wont respond with respect, hence whiy the most kids in our society here have little to no respect. none in this age would talk so responsible and collected but also the smartness he has here.

@@ilovejapan717 That is the worst advice I have ever heard. A child's mind is primed for learning, they're like a sponge when it comes to absorbing knowledge. It's why they can learn their first language extremely quickly without even trying during childhood, as well as being the best time to learn a second. That's why those who learn a foreign language in childhood can speak with a perfect accent, while adults who learn a second language generally speak that second language with traces of an accent from their first language. My point isn't about languages, but rather, I"m emphasizing that learning comes naturally and is most enjoyablel during childhood and to deny that to them is tantamount to child abuse. There are certain things a child needs to learn within a certain amount of time while their brain is still developing or they will never be able to develop the faculties required to live a fulfilling like. A child must be allowed to be a child, playing games, making friends, and goofing off, but they should also be given a decent education to set them up for a bright future.

I remember I had same reaction probably back in the eighties. I was in kind of a camp of a bunch of lamas where they were staying with the Dali Lama. I was crying. Later I could see that the grace and forgiveness exuding from them allowed me to get in touch with the part of me that thought I wasn’t loved. My father was very distant and my brothers emotionally tortured me. These men were what I wanted in brothers and a father. I was seeing what I didn’t get and that maybe I could be loved.

Very educative. I love his videos. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you.

There is nowhere that the luminous Mind is not present but we cannot see it because of our mental state which is always attaching to illusory phenomena. Transcending the illusory is to enter the Tathagatakaya.

What would anyone get by arguing about birth of Gautam Buddha One should learn and follow his teachings and have compassion❤

As this is a very old documentary, I wonder how old and where is Rimpoche now? Is he and the French kid still friends and have they been to Tibet? He is very cute and you can tell he is more wiser than other kids his age. I still think he should be given some time to be a child too. Being a Buddhist myself, I do believe in reincarnation, but still don’t really understand it all. How, how do they know Rimpoche is reincarnated from the older man? Or was he simply the chosen one? When he was born , how did his parents know? 💖💖💖🦋🦋🦋

It is very wonderful to watch these kinds of content .. But just to let you know, that Buddha was born in Nepal not India 16.31.

Thank you for showing these past videos, which shows what kind of leader he is. We really know there are lots of people who are genuinely trying to protect children, but they should have examined deeper and thought about their own contributions towards children. We know from the bottom of our hearts that this is the signature of his love and compassion towards anyone seeking his blessings. We believe that this child did good deeds in his previous lives to get this much love and compassion from His Holiness.

Boundry of civilization need not be equal to modern day boundaries of nations...those who are arguing whether Buddha born in china,or nepal or India..need to understand it was Indian civilization spreaded from central asia to south East Asia
