I was looking after a rescue dog for a few days as his owner (a friend of mine) was working in another country. It was a city rescue so was not used to grass or trees etc. The first few days he refused to walk on the grass. Then he started barking at what he thought were suspicious leaves and chasing birds, hedgehogs were funniest. He would sneeze at them and trot off like "I was not that interested anyway". Made me think maybe I should get another dog.

That’s such a heartwarming story! 🐶 It’s amazing to see how quickly rescue dogs can adapt and find joy in new experiences. His reactions to the leaves and hedgehogs sound adorable! Maybe it’s a sign that another dog would bring even more fun and love into your life. 🌿🐦🦔❤️

My dog likes to lay on my lap during the winter, but during the Arizona summer she’ll stick close but not lay on me. It’s just too hot. She hates it when I have to leave. Dr. Appointments and family matters take me away. She’s always happy when I get home. I’m disabled so I’m home most of the time, but there are days when I’ve got things to do. I left one day and when I got home my son told me that she was howling. I’ve never heard her howl, so the next time out my son recorded her. Poor pup. I’d I could I’d take her with me!

My dog never stops barking at unfamiliar people when they are in our home. Especially males. I don’t know her background because she was a stray we rescued 2 years ago. I have anxiety issues as well and the constant barking does not play well with my anxiety. It triggers a fight or flight response within me. She will usually calm down after awhile with women however with men, she will eventually relax enough to lay down but she never takes her eyes off of them. If they even breathe too hard, it starts all over again. I wish I knew how to help her with her anxiety

It sounds like you're both doing your best under tough circumstances. Maybe some gentle, gradual training with a male canine behaviorist could help ease her anxiety... Hang in there 🐾💕

My dog only sleeps on my left side under the blanket. She will jump on the bed Cross over me and get under the blanket. Then she steals all my bed as I sleep, every time I move she steals more of the bed. I wake up in the middle of the night and my feet are hanging off the bed and I have to push her back to the left side so I can put my feet back onto the bed..
