I think some things that are exaggerated for effect here. The I-35 commute is bad, but the western and southern parts of town can take Mopac, which is actually a faster commute than 183 from North Austin in my experience. Being landlocked is really no different than Austin's situation or other nearby towns. Downtown is more lively than you credit it; if you don't get there early on Fri/Sat night, you won't get parking. RR and Georgetown are also in a position water-wise than Austin, Cedar Park and Leander since they have a different water source. They fared much better through the drought, especially compared to Leander.

I did. I taught in Round Rock ISD for a long time and I was able to see how amazing the teacher, staff, and admin work so hard and cared for their students. I personally had the best kids but I’m biased I guess 😊

Round Rock was population 4000 in 1975. Today, it's over 100,000 people. How many cities grow that fast? Round Rock is a historical town and the city has kept the look that way. You might need to do some history research before you rail against Round Rock. It's definitely not a cheap place to live though. You get what you pay for.

theres not really anywhere to "stay away from" in round rock. its a pretty safe suburb, just dont walk through any neighborhoods that dont look like cedar park late at night- theres some low income areas of neighborhoods but its nothing particularly dangerous if youre not on foot. the most inconvenience youll find at a hotel here is some poor management, but otherwise youre alright with any of them

I've heard my clients say that our traffic is not nearly as bad as other cities. For us because we are so use to open spaces and hardly any traffic on farm roads and alternative roads it feels worst when we drive in the city. For me it that IH-35, lol.
