I’m a massage therapist and I am definitely guilty of telling my clients to “do some yoga”...but really what I mean is I want them to stretch and move their body more - which I will say in the future. While I understood that the American take on it is not really yoga, I never stopped to think about how that verbiage perpetuates the watering down of this practice. Thank you for taking the time to educate us! I always learn something new.

Cultural appropriation!! Learnt something new again from your video. Excellent video again Kritika, loved watching this one too. It would be so good to understand things we accept from different cultures, universal acceptance would go so far in spreading love!

😀 This one was cute! loved it! Adopting and blending AND ensuring due credit is given!! Some things stood out to me like ‘Guru’ is not a term you give to yourself... that it has a special weight and meaning! Looking forward to more such great content.

I recently got some organic henna and I did my own henna, I tried not to do anything cultural just so that it wasn't seen as appropriation (and I am very white) I often draw on my hands with pens and markers and I saw a henna video and I wanted to do it to myself. Henna is a pretty difficult medium to use and I have so much respect for henna artists.
