    My son is thinking to join the Navy. He has a Bachelor’s degree...so maybe the Officer training route. This video was helpful. Best of luck as you continue your journey.

    You are very welcome! Go for what you want and don't taken for an answer. That's mean you'll have a longer wait but you can do it. Have you considered ROTC.

    First time here, I’m in the process of going active duty Officer route to be exact. It’s the weekend, so I don’t trying to blow my recruiter up with questions. Your video definitely helped out, and your hair on point too!

    Hello, I really find your videos very helpful. I'm interested in serving in the Navy Reserves. I served as a reservist for another branch but I have been told by many people that the Navy Reserves are very different and have a little more flexibility. Could you maybe elaborate on this. I would truly appreciate it since I do miss drilling and doing my 2 weeks a year.

    What were some challenges, and most of what you witnessed inside the navy? Was it overall a pro than a con?

    Whew That's a whole video right there 😅 One of the biggest challenges for me was how I operated. My personality was fit for someone of higher rank. I was a forward thinker while everyone around me was just "do what you're told" type of people. I head-butt with alot of my COC. Not from disrespect but from what looked like lack of efficiency to me. 🤷🏾‍♀️ The males could definitely get away with that stuff. 😮‍💨

    Can you use the VA loan to buy houses like that when you are in the reserves or is it just for active duty?

  • @NavyTransitionCoach

    @NavyTransitionCoach

    Жыл бұрын

    You can buy a house using your VA home loan guarantee while in the Navy Reserves. You do have to meet the 180 day active duty threshold to qualify for the benefit AND you have to show that you can actually afford the mortgage.

    How possible is it to buy proper in every duty station like is there limit to the VA loan

  • @NavyTransitionCoach

    I love this question. It's ABSOLUTELY possible to buy in every single duty station. There is a limit but here is one route that you can take. Refinance into a Conventional Mortgage after you hit the threshold. For example you have 2 properties in 2 different states and ready for a 3rd, you can refinance one into a conventional loan and open up the VA loan benefits to buy the 3rd property. Another option is the Dscr loans. Essentially easy money if your homes are bringing in money such as renting them out. Should I create a video on this?

    So are you able to use your VA loan to purchase a property even if you’re living in the barracks?

  • @NavyTransitionCoach

    Yes! But you will have to use as Primary residence. BUT if you are going underway, on deployment, etc you can rent it out. 😉 That's the work around.

    I don't think so but you can always request to leave active reserves and join the IRR.

    Yes but it's not that simple. You have to meet certain criteria. Some of which is out of your control. For example: Your year group and rate has to be available and open. It's definitely alot.
