I am a 71 year old Mexican and in 1970 this song reached Mexico City with the other music of the 60's and 70's like the Beatles, John Denver, The Byrds, and though I didn't know the words, it touched my spirit. I heard this song recently and could understand the lyrics. It brought the tears to my eyes. Now that I am a grandfather, this song resonates deeply in my heart. Graham Nash's lyrics had the wisdom of a much older man.

Yes, it was such an amazing time to be alive. Each epoch had a different feel. It was pure and innocent during Camelot, but immediately after Kennedy was shot it was a different feel. I remember sitting in the car, listening to the radio, wondering if the night sky would turn intensely white with missiles launched from Cuba. The 70's were a time of exploration (space race, local adventures, building, and flying giant cardboard gliders, and (of course) girls). Each decade had a different feel, and kids today will never know what it was like if they didn't live through it. So sad for them. "Dad, were you in a rock band?" "It was the 60's... we were ALL in a band!" (The Zendicks, 1967).

You guys made such beatiful music. Its such a shame. You helped a whole nation of young people turn to the more seedy side of life. We see it today . What was the mantra of the sixties Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll. What we got today is the results of that . You helped a generation of young people who grew up in a country full of promise. Not without internal problems. But a good country nevertheless. And you helped them shed their chains. As my brother says. That old Catholic guilt bulls. T. And we did. And today we got divorce. Abortion. Homelessness. Hate for or nation. Confusion on the basic tenants of what right and wrong are. And you guys helped do this. Great music morally lacking. So time is very short now. We will see our nation destroyed very soon. If we keep going this way. But there is hope. If we as a people will humble ourselves ask God to forgive our sins and heal us. And we do this daily all day long. Bring God back into our daily lives. He will restore us. People. Hes a very personal guy. We were the apple of his eye. We are lower than his very angels but he gave us the power of being creators of life. Life.... that is a powerfull thing. Whats killing our nation is our utter disregard for the most innocent the most holy the most cherished thing. Our babies. 60 million to date. Thats what the problem with America. We forgot what made our nation so unique. We are the only nation that God is woven throughout our very constitution. We are a special people. But we have lost our way. Not intentionally I think but in small increments. We are now at a crossroad. Will we ask for forgiveness and humble ourselves in front of God as a nation. Or do we keep going as we are. Its our choice. Great music great message let's complete the circle. Bring it back to God give him the glory and honor.

This song has always been so meaningful, since the first time I heard it, more than 50 years ago. It was at a big anti-war rally in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park in November 1969. CSN&Y, who had just finished recording the Deja Vu album (which wouldn't be released for another 4 months, so nobody knew this song) sang for a crowd of a quarter million people, and the song was deeply touching to most of us. I learned to play and sing the song, and years later sang it many times for (and with) my children, who are now in their 30's. "Can you see you must be free to teach your children what you believe in; make a world that we can live in." Not an easy task, but we're still trying.

I remember covering this tune in the 1980s at coffee houses when I was teaching at the time. Parents today should pay attention to the lyrics.
What people don't realize the 60s and 70s those musicians could play a multitude of instruments equally well they'll never be another era in music like there was in the 60s and seventies and that goes for country too
60's and 70's were the ulitmate for everything!! WE had the best music, the best cars and the best friends - life was good and simple....

Rest in peace David Crosby 🙏😥 your music will never go away it's always in our hearts 💕 in our memories,
You guys made such beatiful music.

Each year the number of great singers are diminishing, thank you for your music and for being a part of my childhood. RIP

Yeah, just look at Graham Nash's face as they pan away
What a compliment it is when the crowd knew the words! Great music!

The music - I mean by that the articulation in the guitars.. the lyrics that touch us all and make us FEEL what they teach us and the force of three voices combining in a harmony that makes ANGELS jealous - unmatched by any choir of a hundred voices.. completely unique and never matched or surpassed.. Divine providence gave them to us and forgive me but I will say that no other combination of talent has ever reached this rarified plateau of excellence..
