7 Stupid Health Mistakes

Don’t sabotage your health by taking the wrong advice! Avoid making these 7 stupid health mistakes.
0:00 Introduction: Common health mistakes to avoid
0:05 #1 Accepting bad health tips and the worst diet advice
1:13 #2 Consuming protein powder
1:48 #3 Treating symptoms alone
2:30 #4 Reducing sodium
3:04 #5 Consuming unsaturated fats
3:38 #6 Avoiding red meat
4:25 #7 Reading nutrition labels
1. Accepting the wrong health advice as fact
Just because someone is a doctor doesn’t mean you should trust them blindly.
2. Depending on protein powder for protein
Protein powder is incomplete compared to animal protein. It doesn’t offer the vitamins and minerals needed to stay healthy.
3. Treating symptoms and ignoring the cause
This is the main problem with the medical system. Healthcare practitioners prescribe medication to fix a problem instead of addressing the root cause. This is especially problematic when treating chronic disease because if you get off of the medication, the problem does not go away.
4. Focusing on salt reduction to reduce high blood pressure
Instead of focusing on salt reduction, which will cause weakness and other problems, focus on increasing potassium. Potassium keeps your arteries healthy and flexible.
5. Choosing unsaturated fats over saturated fats
Unsaturated fats like seed oils are highly refined and are in almost every ultra-processed food. Avoid them!
6. Avoiding red meat
Humans have been eating red meat throughout history. It’s rich in vitamins and minerals and should be included in a healthy diet.
7. Only reading nutrition labels
Nutrition facts can be confusing and misleading. You have to read the ingredients! Look for sugar, hidden sugars, seed oils, and starches. Starches are worse on your blood sugar than actual sugar. Many products that contain starches have 0 sugars listed in the nutrition facts.

True story: my 17 year old daughter had an epileptic fit, the doctor put her on tablets and she had more fits. He then increased her medication and she had even more. I said no more medicine (which scared me more than I want to say) but she never had a fit again (that was 15 years ago) thank God. My opinion is doctors get paid to push drugs.

Intelligent people know their own bodies better than anyone else. Go to those "wellness checks" and they will try to have you on dozens of medications. For me, eating and drinking before sleep is one of the worst mistakes. I can eat the same amount of food, but with the wrong timing, it turns a health restoring, fat burning sleep into an elevated blood sugar, frequent urination nightmare, which leads to low energy and poor food choice the next day. I consider sleep the natural way to fast. Take advantage of sleeping and the few hours before and after sleep, we can dry fast without much mental effort. Thanks Dr. Berg for all these great health lessons!

While everyone is a different, I can share what I learned here that work for me. 1) eat light healthy keto dinner early between 4 to 5 pm, 2) take a walk outside to lower blood sugar, cortisol and expose to infrared from the sun to produce melatonin, 3) no snack or drink in the evening, 4) no computer/phone 1 hour before sleep, for darkness is a 'nutrient', it triggers the brain to release melatonin into blood. 5) avoid anything that increase arousal before bed. I used to get up two to three times a night, now, I can sleep for 7 to 8 hours without waking up. Good luck on your journey to find rest and peace.

So so true! When my mom suffered a stroke the doctor recommended high blood pressure pills. I said I would give my mom Hawthorn berries instead. He freaked out and because he has a group of new trainees he tried to embarrass me. But I stuck with what I know , from my own experiences having a heart murmur and its gone!

My Dr is amazing. I told her I was going to lower my cholesterol naturally. I also told her about slippery elm for my gut. Amazing stuff by the way. I asked her if she was offended by me not taking statin. Her answer was not at all. I only give you advice but applaud you for looking other ways. You know what your body does. We hugged. ❤❤That's a great Dr. I'm going for bloodwork in 6 months.

One of your best videos, Dr Berg. I have little to no faith in a medical profession where medical doctors gain their education from a system funded by big pharma. We, through our own research along with help from individuals like you, are forewarned and forearmed, equipped to handle most of what ails us. Much thanks, Dr Berg.
