0:38 Sweat explained
3:45 Benefits of sweating
6:52 Check out my video on the benefits of exercise!
Let’s talk about why you should sweat more often.
The purpose of sweat is to control your body’s temperature. It’s a survival strategy that helps prevent things like heat stroke.
The average person consumes 3300 mg of sodium a day and 2600 mg of potassium every day. However, the average person actually needs 2300 mg of sodium and 4700 mg of potassium. Only 5% of the population actually gets 4700 mg of potassium a day.
However, the ratios are more important than the individual numbers. For example, if you’re not getting enough potassium, you need to make sure you don’t consume a lot of sodium. If you consume more sodium, you need to consume more potassium.
These ratios are especially important for the cardiovascular system. This is why I created my Electrolyte Powder product. It’s high in potassium and low in sodium to help correct this imbalance.
Sweating can help you:
1. Balance your potassium and sodium ratio and support a healthy cardiovascular system
2. Release certain toxins
3. Sleep better
4. Have more energy
5. Increase circulation and prevent overheating
6. Support your neurons by creating a hormetic effect
7. Support your adrenal glands

I had adult acne all my life and the dermatologist tried everything to stop it. I kept telling my GP that I don't sweat enough and she said I was fine. I bought a portable pop-up FIR sauna and sat in it 3-4x/week for 20 min each time and in 9 months my acne was almost gone. Sweating is very important for our bodies and I continue to sit in my sauna even on the hot humid summer days.

Sweat is also a way of your body detoxing. Doesn't worry me at all. Sweat is your body losing water and sodium and so most people rehydrate with only water and you will be low in sodium. Another doctor said don't worry about having too much salt, you should rather be worried about not getting enough.

Hello Dr Berg.. you are a life changer... I have something to input to your collection of research on gut health... I have gastro cardiac syndrome..... gut inflammation and irregular heart beats have plagued my life, your videos have helped me recover.. I refused to take the blood thinners and other life ruining medications Doctors wanted to put me on, rather than finding the root of my condition, the doctors even wanted to install a Watchman in my heart......when the cause of my arrythmia were dietary...... to get to the point.... pro biotics, leafy greens, high proteins, keto and intermittent fasting stopped all the cardiac symptoms.... But the one thing, that triggered my body to allow the change and stop the inflammation for my gut to start healing within 12 hrs was taking Claritin Reditabs.... they melt in your mouth so no gut stress. I took at 4 p.m and woke up and the knife in my stomach was gone, the bloated inflammed feeling was greatly reduced, by 24hrs was gone, and was on my way to feeling like I was a human being again, not a person with a death sentence..... but without your videos and inspiration, I would be a medicated fool... The fact is Doctors don't know you or your body.. They have a desk full of medication they throw at your symptoms, not cures for it... the key is to observe your body and what the foods and beverages you put in it make you feel, and listen to your body, I would rather die, knowing it was by my own faults, rather than dying from a strangers advice who is supposed to be an expert but is only an advocate for pharma that doesnt cure.......but masks my conditions to allow me to get sicker more comfortably...

@@Drberg I have a question about something you said in the video referring to potassium levels. I've been plagued by PTSD and chronic fatigue for years now. I have found a doctor where I've settled and some preliminary blood tests indicate that I have higher level than normal of potassium. Is there any detriment to this? I don't do much of ANYTHING, because of the lack of energy and the repercussions after being active. I've been taking a non sugar mineral mix in one of my water drinks every day. I'm interested in ordering your product as I think it would be a better quality than a grocery store one, but wonder if I'd still have a higher potassium count than what is normal. During my first six months here I was almost comatose from the chronic fatigue and slept or was lying down most of the day. The people I'm living with were eating keto so that's what I ate too, only no meat other than periodic seafood. I LOST 50 FREAKING POUNDS!!! I went to bed with the extra weight that PTSD, chronic fatigue, and depression had put on me and "woke up" to the fact that my pants no longer fit! I was not TRYING to lose weight - that concept completely eluded me in my fugue - but even while I was horizontal and inactive 90% of the day... I LOST WEIGHT! I found your videos only a short time ago and have also shared some with the family I'm staying with as we all learn more about the benefits of keto. I must add that my mind seems clearer now than it did when I got here. Is that typical of a ketogenic diet? And lastly, do you believe that one (even at 70) CAN be cured of chronic fatigue? I'm determined not to spend the rest of my life like this and am looking for ANYTHING that can actually get me to a state of health again. I have too much to accomplish with my talents to continue living in a half dead existence. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My mother in law was diagnosed with it in her late sixties, and with a holistic doctor, greatly improved her health. She was nearly 101 when she passed away two years ago. Each body is different, and I hope you find what you need. One thing that helped my mother in law was vitamin B-12 shots and weekly supplements of 20,000 iu's of vitamin D3. Hi ,Doc now I understand better .I get inflammation and my neuropathy flares as well when my insulin is high from carbs intake, recently I was grieving my empty nest, so I could not cook for I was very emotional then I was ordering meals. As I'm perimenopausal, I just blew up ,as I'm recovering I m cleaning up to get my mojo back ,I do walking ,slowly start cooking my own low carb food, because six ago I had a good weight for a long low carb diet I did lose so much weight then everything was fine ,but sleep at night was and is still a struggle. OK I commenting about the potassium issue ,now I realise why no matter how much I take potassium supplements as I'm adjusting my health and walking doing light exercise, it is more like stretching out my stiffness, it like zero .It hard to reach 4000mg of potassium every day, I'm taking supplement and eating so much green and avocado.I have been fasting doing OMAD,so I can't eat more I feel really full and tired of chewing. My pain has TREMENDOUSLY reduced, but no sleep at night, ooh my adrenal. I m doing all I can with adaptogens, and choline and lemon water with apple cider.I think I should juice more vegetables to increase my potassium, but it is quite a job.It is like all my potassium intake goes right back out.

Sweating during activities like sport or gardening is probably good to detox the body, but pretty much in our part of the planet: sweat has the same stigma as the rest of the world, therefore, using cream roll deodorants after shower, which are the strongest form of antiperspirants, are very common in the Middle East, especially with the hot weather there, yet this issue worries too many people, with all those reports linking this type of antiperspirants to some types of cancer, in which I wish Dr Berg to make a video about this.
