Love the riff and the way you put all of those scales together into a groove. It would have been really sweet if you had the tab for the entire groove. It would make for some great practice and warm up.

Pretty sure I was making up a lot of that stuff on the spot. Follow the principles and you can do exactly the same!
Those patterns are so great because they work for any scale of that type. That's how Steve Harris would play. He had shapes he could use, I guess it didn't hurt metal is always E and A minor.
That bass is gorgeous!

Hi! I would like to play a bass in rock music (similar to Bon Jovi) do you have any masterclasses or lessons dedicated to that so to master some style-related theory and some practice with anything leading to improvisation? Thank you, Sir!
@OnlineBassCourses
Жыл бұрын
I probably have loads! Try this one?? kzread.info/dash/bejne/fGGcx9hrfLO7paw.html I do have a rock bass book too: geni.us/RockBass
At the risk of being nit picky, if the 7th isn't present, it's not a 9th. That R-5-2 shape is a sus2 chord and honestly sounds like it by itself. If the guitar is playing the 7th (and the 3), then it'll sound like a 9.
@OnlineBassCourses
Жыл бұрын
This was made a long time ago so I honestly have no idea which bit you’re referring to! An add9 chord doesn’t ‘need’ a 7th but, of course, you can make all kinds of voicings with different names.
Hello Dan, what kind of strings do you use on your bass ?

Hi Richard. A variety but mainly Elites Players or Stadium, usually 45-105. But, as I say, a variety. I should have a video revealing all soon…

@@OnlineBassCourses If you're serious, there is a serious lack of 3 things related to playing bass on a Keytar (or any Keyboard for that matter) either of which could give you an opportunity to expand your offerings if you ever decide to pick up the keytar. * The first is lessons on how to play bass lines on keys that sound like or at least approximate a bass guitar. * The second is lessons on cool basslines that are for some reason better or easier to play on keys than with strings (if there is such a thing). * The third would be the creation of bass sample programs that combine the various sounds a bass can make and that are used in good bass lines into a single relatively complex program to be loaded into the Keytar (some allow this such as the Roland AX-Edge) or a midi sound module. Example: a normal bass sample but if you strike the key faster (velocity) above c4 (or trigger a momentary foot switch), you get a slap sample. Today's technology allows all of this stuff but it requires someone willing to spend the time and (most important) that knows what they're looking for to do it (or someone like me willing to buy it). I would love to welcome you to the Keytar Bass club (no there isn't one - yet)

Nah. You really do need to learn that stuff. Put in the effort and you’ll be rewarded.
