This was extremely helpful, thank you. I was looking at buying an 18-200mm lens, but some reviews mentioned noticeable barrel and pincushion distortion across most of the focal range, and this video basically cancelled out that con.

Thanks for this video!! Can the correction be done as a batch process to quickly process multiple files?

Yes. According to the DPP guide on p. 74: Correcting Multiple Images at a Time Digital Lens Optimizer Contents You can apply the same corrections to several images by first selecting multiple images in the main window, and then performing correction procedures (p.71). Also, you can apply same corrections by copying the recipe of the corrected image and pasting it onto the multiple images (p.89)

I'm assuming 3rd party lenses are still not supported by dpp4 right? I need correction for my Tokina 11-16mm ultra wide lens when I use it on my Canon SL2 (200D)

Hi Lee, you are right. Canon DPP only supports Canon's products. You would need 3rd party software like Lightroom to do lens correction for non Canon lenses.

What if Canon can't find data on its own lens as that it says "yes." Anyway to manually adjust lens distortion?

Make sure you have the latest version of DPP installed. They update it periodically to add new lens models.

What should the Destination Folder be for the Lens Data selection? I set mine and says download complete and I don’t get access to the box.

Hi Will. On my computer DPP set the folder to: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Canon\EOSLensRegistrationTool\Downloads When I downloaded the lens data for the 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM lens it is updated and it changed to Lens Data: No to Yes. However, it only works for compatible Canon Lenses. Look at pages 73 and 79 in the DPP manual. The latest version I have is 4-12-20 BTW: I have a Sigma 10-20mm lens that I use with my 50D. That lens data is Not Available because it is not a Canon lens.
