In this video, I didn't understand how to change the white sky to a blue sky. Is there a way to do this in Digital Photo Professional 4?
Masks would be sooo useful!
Title should be more informative: 5 Cropping with Canon Digital Photo Professional
So sad this series just ended. I learnt alot. Thank you bro
I love your tutorials. I am learning a lot as a beginner
I love your tutorials. I bet you will be a good teacher
I'm completely new to this program and that was really helpful. Thank you.
thanks - BUT can you please help with using "COLLECTIONS". using collection to view and edit then save BUT it does not default to orignal file location ? - PLEASE HELP as it is maddening to find where the photos in collections came from !!!! as that is were i want to keep the edited versions.
I must say that your series of videos on DPP4 are most useful for some very persuasive reasons (not amplified here), but one thing you didn't tell me is that DPP4 is a destructive editor. I have been using FOSS non-destructive raw processing software for many years and just got used to this idea of never touching the raw data. Of course this is imposed upon the those developers because they don't have access to the algorithms that the camera designer - Canon in this case - does, but they do adopt a development tenet that touching the raw data is bad in principle. Where then is the recovery or data protection mechanism in DPP4 - or does one have to do this by making a copy of the image before making any edits?
You don't have to save your changes to the raw file if you don't want to. You can save as a tiff and then continue editing in any other software you want. Since DPP is Canon's proprietary software, it is the only one that can read the raw file as you took it in camera. No other software can do that.
does the Hue mean either increase yellow (slide right) or increase red(slide left) thank you.
very good thanks. I am interested to learn more about this area of photo editing. I do notice that sometimes the image deteriorates when I make adjustments. So I guess you have to be careful. If you have noticed?
Editing a raw file? No I haven't noticed that
Thanks - good info but I'm looking to send to on line print company. I want to set up an image (non cropped) on any print paper size AND location on the paper i want. Can Canon DPP do this
I haven't tested printing with DPP. I normally print with LR
How to use liners? Everything goes dark, how to build your own curve?
Great tutorial wonderful stuff will have to start from the beginning. Can I convert my black and white negatives, having been scanned of course, into positives and then print in dpp4. Thanks again Mark
DPP works best with Canon raw files. You may want to consider using Lightroom or Nik
can you remove background with Canon DPP4
I've heard they have a subscription version with dune nuero tools that might have that feature, but I haven't explored it. Recommend checking out Canon learning website
In we can create own Dpp preset for white balance is new
Feature has been around for a while. You can save presets to your camera.
I like DPP4, but I don't understand why Canon doesn't offer a robust connection to its own printer software. Such an obvious next step.
Excellent explanation of the techniques!
Why does the Google search brief description state this is Hatch 2 embroidery software?
Don't know why it would say that, I didn't write that it was Hatch.
Is there a way to make the ratings you assign in DPP4 crossover to the ratings in the windows file folder?
I know some ratings sync over to Lightroom, unsure about what data syncs to Windows. I recommend reaching out to Canon
Great tutorial, but I have a question: It is possible to start out with sorting on shooting time, then drag and drop to get a more logical sequence for showing the pictures. But can I then somehow preserve that order if I do a JPG export ? And where is the custom sort order kept ?
Very useful and clear instructions
I need your help with DPP. I have the latest version on my mac book 2022. so when I open the software all is fine withe edit window. The system folder tree is there on the left but I cannot get DPP to go to my desktop and find any photos to process. I have all Canon equipment but Photoshop Elements seems to be the edit software I am stuck with. I follow the folder tree to the word desktop but clicking on it give me nothing further' I am quite frustrated and am in need of your instructions. I know it must be me....everyone else uses the software what am I doing wrong? Thanks...Joe McGrath
Excellent video, called Canon and the tech did not know....lol
nice video
Hi Tanya, my PSW doesnt come with lettering. do you know what can i do
Unfortunately, Singer stopped selling the machines that came bundled with PSW Deluxe. I recommend considering purchasing at Hatch by Wilcom hatchembroidery.com/ or Embrilliance embrilliance.com/ embroidery instead.
@@TanyaOwensDesigns I bought singer Se300
it's all gray on my page, I can't use the lens correction, why ?
Only Canon lenses can be corrected with DPP.
Very informative series. Thank-you.
Another really helpful video from you. This is a great series. Learning quite a bit. Thank-you.
I'm a beginner with DPP . This video is really helpful. Thank-you.
Thanks for these great videos concerning Canon DPP, which is a truly an underappreciated gem. Learned a few tips in most of them. Canon is unique amongst camera makers in that it develops and provides photo editing software. I found your series of videos when searching for 'Canon DPP gamma adjustments' which was a great explanation and it will let me use the same function in other software such as Lightroom CC.
my pictures are not showing up on the side menue and are blurry the main screen
Not sure what you mean. If you aren't able to see the Folders (file explorer), you may want to check the Canon website and search for your camera body and make sure you have installed the latest version. If you do, reach out to support. Version 4.17.20 is available for download and install. You can also update your software from the help menu.
This was extremely helpful, thank you. I was looking at buying an 18-200mm lens, but some reviews mentioned noticeable barrel and pincushion distortion across most of the focal range, and this video basically cancelled out that con.
Thanx for these informative videos. I've been trying to figure out D.P.P. and how to use it effectively ... these are so helpful.
Happy to help!
Thank you so much for the short videos tutorial. This might be a personal preference, but if you would have to give a workflow order (a checklist) of some sort to your videos, would you say it is 1, 7, 5, 8, 2, 3, 4, 10, 6, 9 (optional), 10? In other words: Organizing, Lens Correction, Composition, Cloning and healing, Shadows, Levels & Curves, Color Temp, Color Adjustment, Detail, B&W (optional), and Print?
I think it may depend on the image(s) and your goals. Personally, when I finish working on a batch of images I import them into Lightroom and may continue working on them. I might send an image(s) to Photoshop and some plugins to continue working on it. It really depends on what your end goal is and what the image(s) needs. -- However while in DPP, I don't necessarily visit each palette to correct my images.
The new age soundtrack RUINS it. Is nature not enough?
Thanks for the tip. I'll consider that as I create new videos
the picture of video is so blurry! in 2021!!! how?.. no... HOW!? (in all video in this playlist)
Most likely a compression issue. This is a repost.
Please try to get back to me asap. How do I make the white on a bird stand out more? I'm trying to edit some spoonbills in flight for a competition but I can't bring out the white. It just looks more yellow now
Sorry, didn't see your comment sooner. Hopefully you got your answer. The first thing I would've done was adjust the white balance. Did you watch the video Correct Color Casts? - kzread.info/dash/bejne/i5OMstifg5nVoag.html
What if Canon can't find data on its own lens as that it says "yes." Anyway to manually adjust lens distortion?
Make sure you have the latest version of DPP installed. They update it periodically to add new lens models.
Thank you
Dear Sir A good video But you do not show how to open the Canon DPP and select your photo Also you do not show how to activate the Edit buttons after you have selected the Edit Image window. Remember that not everyone know how to work with this application. Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you.
There are 5 other videos before this video. Also, Canon USA has videos.
Very nice presentation. Thanks a lot.
nice video
Thanks
Great information, liked and subscribed to channel, looks like it was filmed with a potato though.
Hi, I would like to know how to install an ICC profile on DPP to send the print of a photograph to an online digital lab. Thank you
Not sure you can do that. You can reach out to Canon directly to confirm.
Hi - I've gone through all of your tutorials on DPP4 and wanted to say a big big thank you for putting these on line. They have been really helpful and very well presented. Your efforts are much appreciated.
Hello, thank you .. i have SE300 (LEGACY) machine , HOW i can download the design program please ?
This came bundled with the SE340 machine. The company that created the software for Singer went out of business. So Singer is no longer offering the software. I recommend software by Wilcox, Hatch, as they are the dominant embroidery software maker now.
You explained it in a way even a tech idiot like myself understood it, thanks!
GREAT
Hi - Thanks for this and the other tutorials in your series. I chanced across them the other day and hadn't realised DPP4 could do half the things you demonstrate. Really well presented and clear to understand - thank you very much.
