I would love to see Iracing add in the Garage 56 Nascar as well as maybe the Deltawing and Zeod Garage 56 cars. Would be fun to have them, especially the Deltawing just to see how it would have worked at Indy and other IndyCar tracks as it was first designed to be the 2012 IndyCar chassis.

The NGTC cars would've been cool to see in iRacing.

The Super GT series was actually very far into contract signing, until no team from the Super GT series wanted to allow iRacing to get telemetry data, in fear that it could get leaked. We were supposed to get not just the HSV-010, but in the future the Nissan GTR by Calsonic Xanavi and potentially a GT300. Would have been an awesome series.

I think I kinda understand that, I mean your data would be public and even for the rest of the competition to learn how either good or bad your build is (yes like we're talking on a rpg way, but in sense of racing) compared to them, the other rather going for a team, they could go for the 3 giants for the base performance of those rather than going for the teams, like you were a new entry and needed a car to compare which one is suitable for you

Damn, it would be really cool to have SuperGT in iracing especially if they had GT500 cars mixed in with GT3 cars standing for GT350

If they can't get a licence for Super GT they should consider a fantasy class approximating GT500, GT1, IMSA GTO, etc. Some sort of GT cars that slot above GT3s.

It's the only way to let a discontinued class (like GTO or Group B) live-on, it's the only way that the team making the cars can actually inject creativity instead of just imitating and it's the only way to allow what-if scenarios to be played out. It seems like a waste of time to only ever poorly imitate real life when we can do better than real life; no restrictor plates at super speedways, Group B never ending, IMSA's golden age never dying, Class 1 never dying, etc. But, whatever floats your beige boat.

Woooow imagine a full shifter kart series, that would have been awesome. Rfactor had a pretty interesting Kartsim, there's a video out there of Landon Norris trying it out. Also I would love iRacing to make the Le Mans winning Corvette C.8R GTE. I got to see the car at Daytona and it was beautiful to hear. Great video DJ

I would love to see more leaked videos and stuff from iRacing alpha and beta stuff, or even more pre-2008 iracing footage. I wish I knew where to find it.

I do hope, that after F4, soon we could get an FIA F2 series. That would be a blast

I saw that leaked iRacing karting video you mentioned. It was quite interesting. The track was some sort of oval, with a karting track built in the middle with cones to mark the corners. It was very glitchy looking, but also clearly functional. I wish I'd saved the KZread video, but the time I decided I should do that, it was taken down :/ IIRC, the video was taken down only a few hours after it was posted; I assume because the leaker was (justifiably) threatened by iRacing.

Awesome video, pretty sure they also scanned a Indy Light car but didn't release it because the other indy feeder series were not popular and also they tried to get one of the Corvettes but Pratt & Miller didn't want to giveup the data.

After growing up I realised that me and a lot of people I associated with being a "car guy" are somewhere on the spectrum (my case) and it's a "special interest" that isn't quite accessible to most people if they didn't grow around it or aren't hyperfocused on it, yet it's great that we have the internet and 50 billion different communities where we're free to obsess about our 1.5 tonnes of metal :)

I think there was just a point in time iRacing decided to sit on the road racing content they had and focus on oval. After losing both SRO and WEC they seem to have finally gotten in gear to keep IMSA, and thankfully they did. The IMSA content has gotten better and better, and hopefully the trend continues with increasing the car class limit and updating the cars to match real life a bit more quickly.

Karting would be pretty fun if they went back and scanner the gocart tracks with most of the tracks already in the game, not because I'm a karting fan but I want to put an F1 car on the kart tracks

Iracing has a lot of configurations that are essentially go kart tracks

I know of one not included here, the original super late model that iracing was going to add to the service. from what I remember a lot of people didn't want it because it wasn't the exact one that people wanted, one of the things everyone made a big deal about was the hood had a cut out for the air cleaner so it was sticking out of the hood a little bit. the horror 🙄

As someone newer to the sim this is neat to see

I feel like one under talked about thing with the Kart is how its addition would require an entire new ecosystem of tracks to be added for a fairly niche thing. You'd end up like dirt road, where jumpy trucks only have like... 4 layouts for an entire year, or like RX, where you have a hodge podge of fake tracks that diehards probably aren't thrilled with (because they're fake) on ovals to appeal to oval crossovers, real tracks that diehards aren't thrilled with when they were used in reality, let alone on iRacing, that are on road courses that appeal to road racers, and one dedicated RX track, that appeals only to diehards because its only used for RX. So for the diehards, they look at spending $15 for empty lobbies, and for crossover appeal, they look at either running like a half season, or buying multiple tracks they won't use for anything else.

I wish Gran Turismo didn't exist so we could have JGTC cars in an actual PC game

If i remember right, they also had the Lexus GT3. It was setup at the real VIR and you could jump in a sim there and drive it for an event.

There was also the racing semi truck they went to scan but due to a mixup the truck team thought they wanted to race it. They also scanned a Morgan GT2 car very early on in iRacing's development but it wasn't good quality so it was scrapped.

btcc cars probably would not fit into iracing content that well since they would be competing against pretty small playerbase of tcr cars and split it even more

Yeah iracing should really rotate series on the road side in theory, but each car has its own small dedicated user base at this point that you don’t really want to upset

Not watching this yet but the Jaguar better be in here. That's the only one I actually recall anyways, from kneebon5's video on it lol

I would commit war crimes (in minecraft) for an S2000 touring car series. Seriously some of my favourite race cars ever, especially the 2006-2012 era with cars like the Leon and 320si. In case you were wondering, yes I grew up playing RACE 07, and no, I'm not biased.

I wish they would do Super GT like the BRZ and stuff.

rFactor 2's karting feels realistic. My concern with iRacing doing it is its FFB feels a little wobbly our bouncy and the other games that have karting (AM2 and Kart Kraft) also feel wobbly, unlike rF2. All are good, but rF2 feels better. But I've only ever driven karts a few times.

In my (recreational) karting experience, the fronts can be very bouncy and exert a lot of feedback, which could add to issues implementing karts in a normal force feedback game
