I think that your first point is really important. What many people miss out is to do a short Risk analasis of their business & even more miss out that Risk is not just bad. Risk is as well what you need to do when things goes very well but you may "out grow" your supplier. Which can be deverstating for your business. Plus I have to add, you both amazing! Thanks

Hey Kian, GREAT info as always, thank you!! Do items such as bedding (sheets, blankets, pillowcases, duvets) have to be compliant as well? You suggest going to a big brand store & looking at the labels to see what I need to add to my products? Is this information supposed to be on the care tag and not necessarily on the box (since there may not be a box for anything bedding related)? I hope my questions make sense.

Hey Michele, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, and yes absolutely I would def go to a retail store and read all the labels and take pics of all the labels to understand what are the regulations and share with your supplier and make sure they can make to the same standards! IF there's anything you don't understand that's on the label I'd google it first then discuss with your supplier - best of luck

Hie Kian.Does Trade Insurance increase the price of products ?The system on Alibiba Wholesale wont allow me to use Debit /Credit cards.Its limiting me to Wire Transfer and Online Transfers and charges are upto to 40 US.What could be the problem?

I just want to say something on quality inspection : They know getting an inspection is very important, But they do not want to do(or just do it very careless) that, There is a lot of reasons, *1*, correction is very complex in factory,(due to in most of factory ,correction's meaning is deducting money/spend more hours on it,) *2*, disclosing other department's mistaken, I think it's like we were in elementary school some naughty student break the windows teacher ask all student who did that, if someone disclose it and this one may be like a traitor for them.So most of same factory stuff do not want to disclose so that do not getting other people 's dislike.to be an employee(8hours working 1day) ,no one want to be the "bad one". Of course try to not let boss know that as well.*3*Some of factory does not using factory standard quality to do this thing or their quality standard is different from overseas buyer/seller's request, When before sending order buyer does not talk about this important point with factory clearly ....

How do you find the good inspectors? Where is that database? Also, How do you have contracts in writing when you speak two different languages?

Recently, watching and trading in the stock market. Alibaba comes out with their earnings and as I knew it would be down this year, as soon as that hit - I got messages from sellers offering a discount on their previous quote. This could also be fiscal year earnings coming out end of September. August is always a sale month.

Yeah the raw material cost, labour cost and exchange rate are also important factors to keep an eye on as well :)

I didn`t understand the part where Kian says it is a cultural thing for suppliers to exchange money with the inspectors even if the inspection is done correctly. Why would they give money to the inspectors if there is nothing wrong with the products?

I love these tips! Especially "maximizing carton dimensions". Question 1: What tools do you recommend to maximize product carton dimensions? Do you get help from your supplier? Or from your forwarder? Question 2: When it comes to HQS codes, my product contains 5 bundled items. One of them is a thermometer. But the others are other cooking-related gear. Which HQS code would I choose, considering it's such a varied kit? Thanks!

I just want true suppliers listed down below, even if you're a trusted supplier, HELP and you Giving this information to the world on all your pages is helpful!! but to be sure we're NOT getting ripped off, who can we trust from your experience? That information would def be helpful, including beginners like myself.

I really enjoyed the knowledge... but the lady's podcast presence imo was kind of rude at times. Also the swearing was unprofessional and distasteful. But information-wise it was very enlightening and intermediate.
