This is a hidden gem if I've ever seen one. This cover is amazing.

I think there are a few things that can't be missed in performing this song: - a kickass drummer - a kickass sax solo - not including wood winds (flutes) - "3, 2, 1, LET'S JAM!"

This hurt my sense of tempo and intonation. one side of the band was not communicating with the other side well and where's the bongos? I can appreciate their appreciation for quality jazz songs, but you have to feel jazz, you can't force jazz. The saxophone is especially important in this work. The sax has to be an alto or have a very full sound with the musician to crimp that reed like a mo-fo on the high notes. Eighth notes at the start needed better accents; low notes come in soft and forte with lift; the tempos supposed to follow the tophat, not the piano. I just feel like there wasn't enough emotion put into this performance. I appreciate the recording though and their tribute to one of the best jazz pieces I've ever heard.

Eff me, I hope this was intended to be sarcasm or wry humor mocking comment section criticisms - you know, and you just forgot to make that abundantly clear since sarcasm (and communication in general) rely heavily on body language and vocal intonation (how ironic, considering your comment criticizing something audible and mentioning "communicating"). If you didn't forget to make your comment abundantly clear as sarcasm/satire...... Pretentious pleb much?

Nice jam.

Cool jam session, however this goes to show what an enormous undertaking it is to try and match the raw emotion, tight teamwork and enormous energy that the original has. Especially the start sounds very disjointed

The Seatbelts and Yoko Kanno are very unique in the jazz scene, with a big band sound that's nearly impossible to find today. This particular cover is good, but there's missing sections and a lot of sound seems to get lost in the open air. As you've said, trying to cover Tank! is an ambitious endeavour.

Ummmm... This is what jazz SOUNDS like, you pleb. That wasn't disjointed, that was MILD riffing on a MILD interpretation of the original work. I don't mind opinions or criticisms, but I always have a problem when opinions or criticisms come from a place of ignorance posturing as the informed and/or cultured. "Just goes to show what an enormous" cesspool of pretentiousness public comment sections naturally become.
