I’d love to see an update on Science shepherd Life Science! I’ve watched all your other videos about Science Shepherd but Life science is what would be next for us next year and I’m so curious how it compares to the elementary levels!
My oldest will be in 6th grade also this Fall😢❤ not sure how we got here already 😊

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who goes back and forth regarding spelling. We have used lists, Spelling You See, back to lists, etc.

Lol!! It's an odd one, right? Does Spelling You See teach spellings rules or quiz them on rule-breaking words?

@@TheJohnsonCrew It teaches "chunks." How to identify different chunks (ie, ch, sh, oo, etc). You spend 1 week on the same passage, identifying the chunks and copying the passage. At the end of the week, you write the passage via dictation.

@@TheJohnsonCrew Yes. It helped for a time, but the lists actually seem to work better in the long run.

Does the Ron Paul grade the essays and work?

No they don't. They do have a forum that the students post their essays on and then they can leave feedback for each other.
We also love Science Shepherd! I’ve never heard of the Ron Paul curriculum, seems interesting. 🧐 Hope you have a great year!

That's awesome!! We really like the Ron Paul Curriculum- it's kind of basic in appearance, but the content is solid.

Do you mean lessons? He was using the Hoffman Academy which is on KZread, then if you want his sheet music and lesson sheets, you can sign up for a membership on his site. We ended up doing the membership after a few years for about a year!
So why do you not use Ron Paul science? Just curious

Great question! Back in my son's 4th grade year, he tried the first 5 lessons of the Ron Paul science course (which you can do for free) and he wasn't interested in the subject matter that they were going to be covering that year and he LOVES science, so I didn't want to squash that by forcing him through topics that he wasn't interested in. I started looking for Astronomy video courses for his age, because that's his favorite topic! When we found Science Shepherd, they have their curriculum set up in age ranges (rather than 1 grade level for each course). They had an Astronomy course for his age, so we started using that and he loves it!! 😃

The cost of the Ron Paul Curriculum is $250/year for an annual household membership, plus the cost of courses at $50 per course per student.
