6T75 Valvebody & Tehcm

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I overhaul a 6T75 valvebody (Generation 2) and install and program a new Tehcm. This car was stalling when hot and produced code P0742, a TSB was found saying to change out valvebody and Tehcm. It fixed the problem for about 2 weeks, then started with another converter issue. Next week in part 2, I will have a nice video of rebuild tips with the 6T75. Thanks for watching and please stay safe.

Hi Gary! I have a question i hope you can help me. I took the transmission off and change the clutches and i put a refurbished tehcm. The tehcm is not programed yet. Should the truck start or i shouldn't start it until programed. The truck doesn't start only cranks i think the fuel pump doesn't work. Is it the conputer in limp mode and doesn't let ir start? Thanks for the great information tutorial video. You really help me out a lot. I have some bad pressure switches on this 6T75 Gen 1, 2012 Buick Enclave. I have a question. If I just replace the pressure switches, do I have to replace the solenoid filter plate if I don't touch it? Thanks again....👍👍

hey gary i have a 6t70 gen 2 on a 2014 cadillac srx luxury, i have very harsh downshifts alot of the time, also slip/flare from 2-3. also when im coming to a stop, but dont completely stop (maybe 8-10mph), then start accelerating again, theres a very bad hesitation then clunk into gear. i have no problems fixing the issue myself, just cant pinpoint the exact problem, do you have any ideas what could be wrong in there? i already bought a sonnax 3-5-r drumsaver to put in (havent done it yet), but debating weather or not to get a zip kit from sonnax also. any help is appreciated thanks!!

@@Zaanjo Just back from a visit to a local repair shop i trust. He doesnt do tranny work other than fluid changes. Had to drive for an hour(start and stop errand running) before it was "hot enough" to start happening consistently. Once hot, I began experimenting with "manual mode". I believe that the programming of this AT has a tendency to want 2nd gear instead of 1st gear...In manual mode its great in first gear, upshift to 2nd and i get that chatter, real bad, 3rd thru 6 seem fine. That shop said take it to a tranny shop you have a 2nd gear issue.

Hi Gary, I hope you're still around and thanks for your videos, they are very informative! Ok, so here's my question. QUESTION: Can anyone get the software to program the TEHCM, or is it only available to certain repair shops? I have a 2011 Traverse with 272,000 miles on it and the trans is a mess. Slow to go into reverse (2-3 seconds), wild clunk (especially when its cold) at take off and when letting up on the accelerator in lower gears like 1, 2 3. Sometimes won't shift up or down properly (seems like it gets stuck in 4th gear) when going up the mountains. I already changed the pressure switch membranes, mine were all fine though. My Mech told me I have valve codes indicating sticky valves, but he also told me he has to pull the engine to change the valve body, which I am calling BS on. It's not easy, but it can be done without pulling the engine. So I would like to change both the TEHCM and the Valve body, but I'll just go with the valve body if TEHCM programming requires a licensed mechanic or a dealer. The car is worth less than the part, so I need to keep the investment as low as possible. Mike H.

Hi Mike, You Do Not have to pull the engine. Anyone can have access to the software but you need the proper pass thru device to program, I purchase time from GM website (Tis2web) then i can download the program for that car and program it. New Tehcm is about 600 from dealer.

@@GaryFerraro Hoping you can help: I changed out the valve body, but now I have no reverse and when I shift into manual all heck breaks loose and I get a code P0700 and P182E (invalid Mode Switch). I have not been able to find any clear info on installing the manual valve assy, can you suggest something? My guess at this point is, the manual valve is either not in right, or, maybe there is a pinched wire.

ok, P182 was the detent not going into position when shifted to L, the output speed sensor cable was jamming it somehow, I tugged on it gently and it pulled out and the shifter worked normally again. Still working on the no reverse and P0700 code, didn't have either before the new (Sonnax) VALVE BODY.

@@GaryFerraro I did. I just discovered I had a gen2 valve body but I needed a gen1. That was the reverse problem. I put my old one back in and now I have U0101 lost comm with TECHM. I’m hoping the connection isn’t tight or there’s too much oil on it. My battery went dead because I left the key on earlier in the day. And I’m hoping that didn’t affect the TECHM.
