I just bought a 2016 gmc canyon diesel 146,000 miles has 6l50 and 3rd slips at first before locking in, the slip time veries no slip to all slip to 4th depending on throttle seem not to slip with heavy throttle. Will be towing in the future and don't like fixing things twice so I've been doing some research and most common issue seems to be the check balls. I don't want to remove the trans. I'm thinking a valve body service and a deep pan would fix it. Any other service suggestions while I'm in there. Seen people say adding separate trans cooler isn't necessary as they don't tend to overheat. I did see your other video with the o-ring plug kit😉

Hello Gary, Great video and.mich advice to head. Because of your video I stucked out the PTU on a new to us 08 Ford Escape hybrid with 43k on it. Was a dark pil but oil and not much sludge on the fill plug magnet. My question is if you would be so kind, I could.inly.suck out 7oz. I pimped it dry moved the hose around best I could. I refilled it woth Liqui Molly 75w140 and pumped in 10oz. (It starred to seep out the fill hole.) No drips leaks or even damp spots on the PTU. In your experience does the sludge take up less area as to why I pumped in?more then I took out? Or was it never filled o begin with? Your opinion would help settle my mind. I do plane on pump and fill every 10k with oul change to be safe. Thank you.

Great video Gary. People always cheap out. Me included, in various areaa of life. Sometimes you get a bargain for your money, sometimes it's a fair price, and sometimes you pay a fortune for shoddy crap from a idiot. And everything in between. At least from you he knows you do your absolute best, using best available components, and do it your way to get no come back and long service life. Bottom line life in USA isn't easy for everyone and not everyone has piles of cash ready to spend for a+ top shelf work. Life can be a struggle given housing cost, extreme money printing inflation, etc. Good luck navigating the storm, I suspect you'll continue to have success and wish you the best. Cheers!

Some shops are just shoddy. That's just the plain truth. Last time I had a shop do my e4od tranny here in Toronto, Canada, they put 4 clutches in a 3 clutch forward drum. They obviously didn't give a crap about checking clearances....lol. Within a year, the clutches were all burned...and luckily...before causing any real hard part damage, first gear was struggling to get me moving....and I stopped driving it. I then swore I would not go back to a tranny shop, and did an amazing job rebuilding it myself...with upgrades. It's not to say that there are not good tranny shops out there, as you seem to be very good. Gary...and I'm sure I would use you if I was in your vicinity. However, there are certainly bad ones......and that's what it took to get me to learn how to rebuild a tranny myself...lol..

hi Gary. Audi A4 2006 3.0TDI V6 quattro sedan By the looks of it all it has the same transmission as this one of yours, same bridge seal, connecter position etc. Had the tranny rebuild , but unfortunately didnt change the solonoid set with new ones. (money issue). hot or cold, issue is the same. when going downhill and thus not accelerating, just floating against the gears, the rev counter will fluctiate and the car has slight bumpy kind of ride. it will then light up all the gearlights and sit in one gear. after wich i stop, switch off the engine, restart again and off we go. untill it does it again. also when sudden hard accelleration is administered it would also jump to same lower gear(i think it is 3rd) with all the gear lights on. then same thing, stop and restart to get it going again. will a solonoid set change fix this?
