Ford 5R110W Teardown, Stalling Problem

In this video, i teardown a 5R110W that had a stalling problem in reverse. This was due to very high pressure in reverse, at one point my gauge was pinned at 400psi and the engine shut down. The problem here was a sticky pressure regulator valve, Did overhaul and installed a Transgo shift kit which fixed the stalling, line pressure returned to normal. Thanks for watching

    I built 5r110w approximately 100 times...and 95% of all of them i reamed PR valve, and my 5r110w works perfeft. I don't belive in transgo or superior steel valves...They sticks same way if tranny has a metall in oil, and they eat bore more than oem, but original aftermarket pr valve size doesn't restore the bore...But the BORE gets worn out ☝ I belive only what my vacuum tester shows me...🤔 I Recommend check forward drum for crack, maybe one in 20-30 trannys forward drum cracked... And always check for crack coast drum too, even if it's not broken as it usually happens, sometimes it has smaaaall crack, i just flip over drum put oil around welding and put air straight in hole. So, all this things i do during disassemble, that i could find out before assamble. And i changed pump bushings many many times, need just to instal it right and nothing not gonna happen.     Hello Gary, thank you for your videos! I have a highlander with a U151F transmission that has some hard shifts that i think are typical for this trans as it ages. In my case, the fluid is in pretty good shape, it doesn't smell burnt or anything like that. Do you think it would worth it to try and change the solenoids/valve body and do a memory reset to address the issue? Or do you think it might need an entire overhaul? The symptoms aren't too bad yet and the fluid is in decent condition.
