#69 Kubota L2501 50 Hour Service

Today I did the 50 hours initial service on the Kubota L2501. Changed hydraulic filter, transmission filter, Engine oil and filter. Also be sure to grease, adjust the clutch and check the engine start system.

These oil change and service videos are always a hit. There are so many new tractor buyers out here that it may be their first time ever doing a service on a tractor. t can be very intimidating at first but the learning curve can easily be mastered. Thanks for sharing this Ritchie. You did an outstanding job. You explained everything very well and you had a good rhythm to your work. Outstanding! Full watch and a thumbs up. See you for the next one.

Hi Richie! This was a nice and informative video for L2501 owners - and curious B2601 owners like me! So the 50 hour service on both tractors is pretty similar but it looks like your filters are way easier to get to. When I did my 50 hour service, I tried to quickly replace the hydraulic filter but I lost about as much fluid into the catch pan as you did. Good thing I had a 2 gallon supply on hand. Thanks for sharing!

Just found your video. Nice job explaining the process. I bought the L2510 yesterday and am chomping at the bit for delivery next week. When you were showing the hydro fluid sight glass, I noticed a torx head screw wedged in between the tunnel cover and the floorboard. Hope you noticed it too before it worked its way out and ending up in a tire. Thanks again!

Different models and brands have a suction screen inside the transmission where main pickup tube bolts . Probably one of the biggest mistakes I have seen in servicing a tractor . When your hydraulics are jumpy or have a cavitation sound or start too wine it’s usally the suction hydraulic filter or the suction screen inside plugged . New tractor owners or used buyers need too know these things . Can be a really bad costly mistake if not serviced properly . Good service demonstration 👍👍

Some people do that, losing a gallon didn’t break the bank. Some people use a clean pan and dump it back in as well. Be sure to check your front axle fluid !!

How's she goin'? It great to be able to do your own maintenance and oil changes. And it sure helps with the operation of the tractor to get these checks done. One nice thing about tractors is they are a lot easier to work on than a car. Most of the maintenance parts and drain plugs are easy access. Nice job and some good tips on doing the maintenance. Have a great week!!

You can buy an internal fine dust filter for inside of the regular air filter. They are blue colored and run around 15-20$. I was surprised to see the factory didnt add one. They only need to be changed every 200 hours or so.

@@HillsideAcres ok. I’ll make sure to do that and see if anything changes. So if the tractor stays parked and not used for a few days, the peak glass will give a reading of not enough fluid? But if you use the hydraulics and then check the fluid, that’s the accurate reading?
