I have had 2 pairs for 3 years, I ride motocross and am a full time motocross mechanic, dirt, oil, gas, kneeling on pavement, riding through pits a bit, and also messing around on pitbikes, besides some pilling in the inseam and a few burn marks on the lower cuff I have zero complaints and I use them like carhartts. I never wear pricey clothes but these are worth every penny!

Interesting idea having a compression mode, but I think my Western Rise pants fold down to smaller than this.

It’s a general observation (also with most other pants) I appreciate there’s probably a traditional reason , but why do pants designers still make a down pointing triangular bottom on the back pockets ? Most wallets are square cornered , so are mobile phones ? Why not just make the pockets flat bottomed? My rear pockets get weird wear and my phone and wallet lie at an odd angle. The pointy bottom doesn’t seem to fit today’s needs .

Yes, but melt with extreme heat, and the mesh pockets can be cut by sharp tools in them. I know those two things are my fault. I put my leg on a motorcycle exhaust after a 200 mile ride and melted a hole in a pair and shoved a flat head screwdriver (hard) into a pocket and put a hole in the seam of the pants mesh pocket. But I've had no problem with other types of rough use, including working in them.
