Great review! I have the 1.0 from when they did their kickstarter price (I think it was $80). That made a lot more sense for how minimal it was. At the price of $139, it feels grossly overpriced for what you get IMO. I do like the bag when I'm going for a super minimal loadout and I definitely agree that it looks "cheap".

When I got my 1.0 I emailed them about having two hidden pockets instead of one, so I'm happy to see the change! They're perfect for minimalist wallets (FOCX etc) and at the time, small bottles of hand sanitizer. A trick for extra security is to lock the zippers together with a nite ize s-biner, the small ones.

Are they just calling bags "crossbody" to avoid calling them "Fanny packs" ... Because that is a fanny pack... Crossbody should hang from one shoulder, across the front and back, bag at the hip... Like a purse / handbag / pocketbook This is a hill I'll die on... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This backpack seems more like it's whole purpose for existing is to allow you to attach the Metro Kit to your rolling luggage - a backpack shaped adapter.

I have the original small size of these. Initially I was sold on how it looks, magnetic feature, and how it packs nicely. But the user experience is not that great and they are expensive too, even when they are on sale! I don't like the idea of having to use 2 hands to open something, pouring it onto my hand, and then some how close the container while I have shampoo or whatever in one hand. A pump or flip cap is easier or just being able to close the container with 1 hand quickly is more preferable for me. The cadence jars are also very heavy too which is not a plus if you are traveling and plan on buying extra things at the destination. Overall you're paying top dollar for magnetic plastic jars. I think you're better off finding travel glass pumps online for the same weight class. Or even empty travel hand sanitizer containers would work better than these Cadence jars. 🤷‍♀

Not a bad bag. I rather like compression panel and grab handle on the bottom. $275 is a bit high but not ridiculous.

Wish you would have spent more time comparing the old strap to this one but I agree with other posters the ergo is worse on this version than the first one. I have both now and while this new strap went in the right direction they just can’t get a sling right. It hangs away from the body in such a strange way because they’re trying to make it hip pack and sling but they need to stick to one. Bellroy is still the goat of ergo but I’m not a fan of the venture line at all, it’s a mess. Classic Bellroy sling is still the go to.

I’m so glad ya’ll do these reviews. I would have been so enamored of that backpack at first sight because of the color and basic outer design. Of course over the years my bag obsession has taught me to look for certain features. For me first off 18L is just too small for me. I carry too much. I’m trying hard to get my EDC down to 20L but right now it’s closer to 30L. I do have a service dog though and have to carry things for him. There are some definite deal breakers on this bag even though it has some cool features I have not seen before. The first deal breaker is the lack of harness system. It’s just straps. I am a very small person and I need a good harness system. That would hurt my back in less than 10 minutes. If straps are too wide then it hurts so I need a balance but it really needs something more than straps. No water bottle pocket is also a huge deal breaker. I love a good mag latch and I think the pouch on the front has some potential that just wasn’t quite met in this bag. The wet bag was cool though. I really wish that designers would incorporate adult versions of diaper bags in their designs (Or I wish I could design a bag 😂) because I often carry a diaper bag backpack and I find it SO useful. Baby bottle pockets are great for protein bars, water flavoring and even makeup. I use a ton of baby wipes having a service dog. My kids are grown but I have never stopped needing kleenex and baby wipes. The boo-boo kit is also essential and I use mine constantly. I buy extra small supplies off amazon and keep them organized either in a pouch or in the bag somewhere. I think it would be SO cool to have a Peak Design backpack with some diaper bag features as an EDC pack. Of course back when my kids were babies I would often just use the plain ole backpacks from the outdoors department at Wally World because I didn’t like the diaper back backpacks they made back then. But a backpack was way easier on my neck and back and also hands free to help me keep up with my littles. Till they got older and I bought them their own little packs and taught them to carry their own stuff. I have taught my husband and kids to keep a pack with them. My son goes back and forth with it but my husband and daughter at least have one in the car at all times. I of course have a backup to the one I’m carrying living in my truck. 😂

Did the V2 fit better while cycling compared to the V1? I'm wondering how much it varies depending on riding style. Mine (V1) always seems to swing down under my armpit even after adjusting and it gets annoying. Any tips are appreciated!

I stumbled upon a Chums wallet in the sporting goods department at Walmart while looking for a coin pouch since I had lost my Decibullz earplug pouch, which I had used for that purpose. It won me over how minimalist it was at around $10. I removed everything from my Ridge wallet-inspired money clip to the Chums and have not looked back since a few days ago. My organization system requires all my cash and cards to be on the license window side and all my coins to be put on the opposite side. I also used the “key” loop for my AirTag. It is the perfect EDC. I love it.

i like it better. it fits in cupholders and bottle pouches on backpacks far better than the wider bottles and can take hot and carbonated drinks. also, they're gaskets, not gussets (2:38; 2:50).
