Those are the same problems I have with the old one it it seems to be a replica of v1 for the most part.

I’m glad I purchased the Tokyo Wonder Tote. I like the storage options a lot better than the regular tote.

Try the Bellroy Wonder Tote 15L. Been using mine since November 2023. Very very nice.

I had the exact problem with the laptop compartment, and I thought it was a design flaw.

what’s an alternative as this sounds like having a lot of negatives ?

Can we put a 14inch laptop in the main compartment sacrificing one or both of those bottle slots on both ends?

Tomtoc B11 can not only fit the kindle with its official cover perfectly well but provide great protection since it has a separate compartment. Timbuk2 classic messenger xs is also the perfect size, but its back is not padded at all so won't recommend.
