Man oh man! Every video you do is absolutely clear and complete. Even when it comes down to why you do it a certain way, you give us the reason why you do it that way. When your all done it is a complete install with all the questions answered. I'm going to look for the video for the filler neck. Thanks for doing these instructional video's. It sure make me feel more confident I can do it myself. I only need to decide if I'm going to keep the carburetor or go with EFI, but either way, the tank is going in the back.

Only thing I would recommend differently is after cutting seal plate in rear of bed to clear new tank - I cut two pieces of 1/2 EMT conduit (fits perfectly side by side) to bridge the gap on the inside of the channel and welded it for additional support and reinforcement

The air hose should be ran high up inside the bedside. A rollover valve should be installed prior to a filter you mentioned. However, factory filler neck have a fitting to allow air displaced during filling, a place to go. This operates the aspirator tube to shut off the pump and helps reduce the interruption of fuel flow when refilling. I would recommend a period correct carbon canister, when “Tee’d” into your air line, can store & save the hydrocarbons you paid for. Using a vacuum switching valve that opens when coolant is at operating conditions, the engine will evacuate the raw hydrocarbons and add to fuel economy. A late model canister can be adapted from a salvage yard and mounted underneath out of sight, but the folks using an “LS” type engine can be programmed to operate purge only thru one hose. No EVAP software needs to run. If you don’t give a captured place for your tank fumes to go, like a canister, you will smell raw fuel sitting still durning ambient temperature changes. The fuel heats up while driving from road heat, exhaust and any engine that uses a return fuel line, from the injector rail, regulator type fuel filter or mechanical fuel pumps that have the return line. Just something to plan for as every project is different. Nice products at Brothers though. Research & plan helps. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired

This fuel tank conversion is one of the projects that I have on my list. Question, at the 5:11 mark, instead of cutting out the notch in the frame, why couldn't you take a torch to the area and hammer it down to make clearance? No material is removed, thus maintaining structural integrity for those of us who have the optional leaf spring suspension.

Providing that your fuel pump is outside the tank, you could just use a basic tank switching system. Many types are available from super simple manual valves, to more complex electric systems that will switch tanks as well as fuel gauge input etc. A quick Google search on the subject will get you more info that you probably need.

running new lines is as simple as extending the existing lines back to the new tank. If you're adding a side fill, thne that becomes more of a custom project you'll need to work out on your own. Figure out where you want it, what it should look like and how easy it will be to fill... then do your own mods to get the pipe to the tank. Not really that difficult, just requires some planning because there is not a current kit available.

  • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV

That entirely depends on the needs of your engine. Most engines will operate just fine with 5/16 fuels lines. If we were to draw a line where 5/16 was no longer enough and 3/8 or larger was necessary, we'd say that happens at around 400hp.

Here's what I used. Just make sure you mount it above the filler neck. I mounted it between the the outer and inner skin of the bed vertically on a piece of angle iron and fastened it with some bolts through the inner wall and painted over it. Nobody will know it's there. It's tucked away from any weather and water and you can still access it from underneath. The vent is designed to allow your tank to breath as fuel is entering the tank and leaving during fuel consumption. The valve also is designed to contain the gas in the tank if you ever roll the truck. All modern vehicles have this safety feature. www.summitracing.com/parts/tnk-vvr?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-tanks-inc&gclid=CjwKCAjwndvlBRANEiwABrR32NNKwlOKJ5mWxxz9IusXNP93R3rlbCctkyh-329cI6tpzKHvNSLPGRoCkZwQAvD_BwE
