All this rat is missing is a cape. Watch as he causes chaos among these stray cats as they watch one of their friends be embarrassed by the rat. This rat has a lot of character. Not only does he attack this black cat, but he charges the other cats as well. The cats don’t do anything about it, and the rat is able to scamper off without being harmed.
This is a Russian rat, so maybe he knows something I don’t. This gray and white cat thought it would be easy to grab this little rat for lunch, but he had no clue he was dealing with a crazy rat that never stopped chasing the cat’s tail. The strategy was strange, but it worked.

In the age of social media and sensationalist reporting, animal attacks often garner significant attention, sometimes leading to misconceptions and fear-mongering. While it's essential to acknowledge the potential dangers posed by wild animals, it's equally important to portray them accurately and responsibly. Sensationalizing these incidents can perpetuate negative stereotypes and harm conservation efforts aimed at protecting these creatures and their habitats

Honestly watching these cats running from a rat and then i watch my cats bringing them home for play and dinner, then the next day bringing a magpie home with no head. It really confuses me when you see stray cats running from them, you can understand some house cats because of how they have been used to the easy life, but strays usually kill anything smaller for food

Yes this time of the year in NZ it's autumn, the beginning of our winters just around the corner. My ex 7 year old nuted female cat was a good rat and mouse catcher, and she was well feed on all the goodies I could get her. At 5kg in weight that never stopped her going out at night and returning more than once a night carrying a mouse of a young rat as her football where she would release the thing on my lounge floor then wait for it to run before pouncing on it tossing it in the air and then repeating the whole process all over again. What amazed me was the way she could carry this live thing in her mouth and still mow to let me know she was coming with her prize. Sadly 12 weeks ago my poor mate and friend was run over out on our state highway and now the rats have a free rane :(

1st Rat. Believe it or not.... I saw a documentary about a parasite that once it got into the rat it went threw a very weird tranformation mentally where the rat became attracted to the smell of the cats poop and urine. Dont remember the whole story but that should be enough to get you where you need to go for the story in its totality

Due to seeing rat valour, I was thinking they may have rabies, but apparently, most rodents if not all, are impervious to rabies. You don't need to fear rabies if bitten by wild or domesticated rats at least. Rats hide under trees from flying predators that keep away because the predators don't want the risk of becoming entangled in the tree branches when in need of flight.

Wow! I've always believed that cats would catch and eat mice and rats at their leisure, but your film say otherwise. I own more then 50 ducks, penned up nightly for their safety from I thought weasel's and stoats which from time to time there are many around me here, out in the Country of NZ. I'll be laying more rats bait stations out there from now on. At odd times I have had ducks being crippled at night, often they won't stand as their legs as sore, or they seem to limp about. I always thought it might be drakes rapping the same ducks too often and of course I'd take steps to separate her from the boys until her legs came right. Your doco has proven me wrong on all fronts. and just maybe that explains why my ducks are nerviest when I walk among them during the day. I often thought that wild cats were interfering with them at night because at odd times I have seen the odd cat leaving my cage in such a hurry that I know dam well they are wild. Looks like more bait station will be put out there in the morning just in case. Thank you your doco was very informative.
