One year for Christmas my husband called to order one of Ina’s cookbooks as a gift.Believe it or not, she answered the phone! Not only did she answer the phone she asked him if he would like her to sign the book for me! She is as kind and gracious as she appears to be on tv. I became even a bigger admirer of hers when he told me the story of the book. Thank you Ina.🙏🏻💜

When I was 18 in 2004, a new mom, and riding the poverty line, my newborn son and I would wake up at 4am; I’d make my espresso, he’d drink his milk- we’d spend all morning watching food network, planning recipes and Ina was one of my favorite shows. She was the first person to teach me how to make BOMB roast chicken and a ton of other things. Fast forward and I finally went to culinary school in SF, Ca. At this point I was a single mom and my 3 yr old son and I moved to Napa after I graduated and I conquered my dream to work on Food network with Micheal Chiarello’s NapaStyle show. It was like living a dream. I worked with him from 06-2010 and helped him open up 2 restaurants! The rest is history now, but I’ll never forget those early hour quiet moments w/ my son; long ago before life got messy, and Ina as one of my life teachers. Thank you Ina!❤

Loved "The Barefoot Contessa" always remember how she uplifted chicken sandwiches just by adding tarragon, such a huge difference, I'm not a big fan of adding too many things to my sandwiches, so just adding a bit of tarragon to chicken and mayo was a hit for me, always do it now if making, ty Ina Garten from Aotearoa / New Zealand

I don’t know anymore. I have indigestion Back in the 2000’s she was cute, cuddly and threw things together that were somewhat interesting and looked scrumptious. Now I just feel the formulae of the show mainly that of her husband bouncing in and out, the friends the “I like a white plate”, “good vanilla” the $8M grey shingle boring yet “exclusive” Hamptons house the friendly yet modern farmhouse kitchen, the ROAST CHICKENS etc etc… have just had their day. I respect her third career that she crafted and that she hasn’t gone into a commercial line of homewares… I just am done. Ditto for Gordon Ramsey, the very annoying Raechel Ray, Giada, The fat burger guy, The Pioneer Woman ( the worst) and all of the others that have been dominant for the last 20 years. The internet has new people and other ideas now and they are quirky and in time that will have its day. Yet It’s a burnout every time I see these stalwart cookery “legends” on TV. Martha Stewart is at this point a robot on auto pilot. I am not the only one. Sorry not sorry.
