    Hi Amit this is great content. Wanted to check do you get some shedding on the transplanted hair after even 9 months. I am 9 months in to my first one and I get the odd shedding of the transplanted hairs. Just seeing if it's common. I'm taking a few here and there like general shedding

  • @amitposthair

    @amitposthair

    5 ай бұрын

    thanks for watching!! And to answer your question, yes there are times of shedding even after 9 months. but that's normal. On average, we tend to loose/shed about 50-100 hairs a day, so thats just part of it. Even if the transplanted hairs shed, it just means that stronger versions of it are growing out. It's all part of the hair cycle

    Hi Amit, great results. I had my first procedure for the front and mid scalp in February 2022 and I’m going back next month to finish the crown. Out of curiosity, 1 year post first transplant did you experience any thinning? The hair cycle starts to take place and hairs fall and regenerate but not simultaneously which leads to a thinner look.

  • @amitposthair

    @amitposthair

    5 ай бұрын

    hey man glad you're getting yours done soon! as for the thinning, i never felt like it was thinning as much, but i did see some slight shedding, but that's all part of the hair cycle. some hairs fall off for other stronger hairs to grow and take its place. It's also all about maintaining the growth cycle with stimulants that help hair growth as well. Lots of combination fo things to keep it consistent!

    i actually continued to wash my hair consistently daily after 14 days post op. It was only about after the 3 month month mark when i actually had some hair growth when i switched to washing every other day instead. While I think your mainly referring to the physical things here, I would say one of the struggles I have is keeping up with my aftercare routine. Finasteride, Minoxidil, Biotin, vitamins, shampoos & conditioners etc. 1. it can be costly. 2. Trying to fit it in to my daily routine. Mainly when and where I apply minoxidil. i.e fitting it around work/gym/showers. 3. it can sometimes slip my mind even though I have tried to implement it as part of my daily routine. I get a lot (if not all) of that is optional, but still.

So what i did was just concentrate on applying minoxidil on the donor area for 6 straight months post op. over time i felt like the growth was a bit better and it looked fuller. Alternatively, in the future if you are concerned about it looking thin over all, you cold try SMP even in that area

    not entirely. explosion of density really comes after the 9th month. I'd say by the 10th month you should really start seeing it thicken up. its normal! don't worry! the new transplanted hairs are just shedding off for strogner ones to form. I know it may seem scary now but in the long run you'll see some really good growth and density. hang in there!

    i would suggest doing 1.25mg 4 times per week. I did something similar at the beginning then eventually reduced over time. But dont worry about the side effects! its mostly in your head. but if you do feel like you are having any, then just stop the medication and your body will get back to normal within 2 weeks

    *I skimmed thru it but I guess TWO of THE MOST IMPORTANT things that I did not see or missed to watch in your video are.* *1 - The healing time in the donor area, OHHH MY GOD!! - It's AT LEAST one month of pain and miserable nights when you try to sleep and it rubs against the pillow. It's a very discomforting period that lasts a lot longer than you expect. Eventually it gradually heels and gets better but you cannot take it out of the equation. To be, it's THE MOST painful part of the entire process. And yes, that's taking with antibiotics and pain killers. Horrible, horrible first month after the procedure.* *2 - Taking Finasteride. Yes, that is the most recommended prescription drug even by America hair transplant surgeons. And one of the side effects is "Nodulocystic Acne" in the donor area --- and OH MY GOD!!! This is like someone is inserting superhot electrical needles in the middle of your acenes in the donor area. Waves of this unbearable pain keep going thru your skull all day long. I had to stop taking it. EFF that sh!t.*

  • @amitposthair

    @amitposthair

    5 ай бұрын

    you're right! they are both very important! The healing time of the donor is usually about 2 weeks but during that time it is tough! As for finasteride, i've never recieved any side effects from it but there are defianetly some to take note of like the ones you've mentioned

    @@amitposthair funny thing is, I watched one of your videos where you had a bump right after the procedure and there was blood oozing out. I told myself a MILLION times to make sure not to let this happen to me - the doc who performed my procedure got sick of me constantly reminding him to let all his patients know about this when they enter in a vehicle ..... I was myself super extra careful ... *Lo and behold LOL HAHAHHA !!!* ...that's exactly what happened to me. Had this bump on the head and there was blood coming out and flowing in three different directions .... I cussed it (in Punjabi) so hard and for so long that I got exhausted. Called the doc and he pulled out about 15 follicles but he said I lost about 100 follicles ... I said, after cussing it for so long and so hard ... I don't give a sh!t anymore ... After about a year, I will get a local doc in the US and get a 200 odd follicles transplanted. I put on the "Sunny Sunny Yaariyan" song on the loop on my phone, and got on the plane to come home.
