I’m 22, never played baseball in high school or college but do want to join a community league baseball/softball event.
Wish I had a coach that cared enough when I was pitching to show me some of these things. I was throwing 85 at 15 years old and if I had even known how to throw a proper 4 seam fastball with the curve I taught myself I may have had a career doing the only sport I truly loved. Thank you guys for stepping up and helping those who dont have anyone to care enough to show these things! Plus I was pitching pre internet so I never had this wealth of information. I hope the kids with stars in their eyes are paying attention

@@squaaam2263 85 at 15 is not an anomaly. most kids peak in size and strength by that age. anything younger and id be a little skeptical, but 15 year olds can throw a ball if they're talented.

Definitely Not A weeb not nowadays they built different now I swear there like 6-1 to 6-4 it’s crazy
Man, if I had this coaching 25 years ago, I would have found my zone. I pitched really well 12-15 then started loosing accuracy and lost my rhythm. I could throw 80’s but once you start walking guys, coach puts you on the bench. I hope the young kids really take this advice, it’s excellent that he breaks it down into sections. This is gold kids, make this your go to video if you’re struggling to get your rhythm back. Fundamental lesson 👍

@@floridagirl386 walking is when you’ve thrown four “balls” (outside the strike zone that the batter didn’t swing at). The batter is then given a “walk” which then goes to first base.

Here is a tip. If you are having struggles with doing your full motion make sure you keep your foot lined with the catcher. Also if you need help with bringing your arm back just start with your arm in the follow through moment
Putting this to use in my backyard bullpen tomorrow, thanks man!
This was 100% exactly what I was looking for! Excellent guide for me
love coach Zack he is a great teacher for baseball
Thank you coach Justin I really needed that
I’m a girl and people never wanted to teach me how to play baseball (not even my own dad). It really sucked because I’ve had a love for baseball since that is all my dad has ever talked about. I’ve always been told I’ve had a good arm since I’ve been able to throw perfect spirals in football since I was 4, so I decided to take up pitching. That’s why I’m here, thank you for this video and I will try all this tips!

Love this sport. I always preferred 1st base even though I was always pushed toward the mound because of my size (I'm 6'9 at 17 years old), but I never committed to pitching cause I didn't want to. I fell out of baseball when I was 15 cause I just never got a hold of hitting. Now I'm trying to put in work to develop my pitching skills so I can play baseball in community college next season after I graduate HS. Then hopefully I get to transfer and play at a bigger school and start getting scouted. Any way I can get back into the game I love, really.

The hip drill increases the propensity to "throw up hill." Attempt to generate a power angle a la Paul Reddick, so the release point is out in front of the foot strike...Tom House.
In your "hip lead" drill you show in where you lead with your front hip to hit the wall it doesn't look like you are "dropping and driving" on the back leg first before hitting your hip to the wall. Should we have our pitchers focus on dropping and driving as we teach on the mound before hitting the wall with the hip or don't worry about the dropping so much and focus on more leading with the front hip?
Tha is Coach
Coach Justin, Do you do guest instruction for small groups? Would love to fly you out to NC, I have been having my kids watch your videos for the past year and last week they said, "Coach, can you get coach Justin from ultimate baseball training to come work with us?" I know it would be a super long shot but figured I asked to see if something could be worked out later this summer.
im going to try out for the team i know almost everything about baseball but never played for a team any tips?
I’ve been told to not push with my back leg but to “fall” down the mound and use my hips to create hip shoulder separation. However, in the video he mentions pushing with the back leg. Is this correct or should I be “falling” down the mound? Is it a combination of both?
