It deff works if it's enough to throw me off as the viewer I can only imagine how much it can fuck you up during a big game under pressure tens of thousands of people shouting and hollering. Yeah that shit will fuck you up I'm surprised pitchers don't do weird little things like that more often. I'm not huge on baseball so I don't know what the limits are to how much you can move around or what kind of gestures your aloud to make can you wave your arms around can you take steps backwards forwards? Is there a time limit to how long you can stall until you have to throw your next pitch?

All of these pitchers have these things in common. They all throw off the batters rhythm or timing of a pitch and swing and they all are good at hiding the pitch that they are about to throw. Some pitchers will stand or position themselves or their arm a certain way when they throw a certain pitch. Each of these pitchers throw the exact same way Everytime and hide their pitches.

Nestor Cortes, has about 5 different arm angles, 3 different delivery speeds, and 3 different velocities for each of his 5 pitches.

obv u never heard of the d-train or the 2003 marlins. this was his first CGSO at like 20 years old, eventually won rookie of the year, outstanding pitcher for the first three years of his career. Almost won a Cy Young too. The 2003 Marlins were kind of like the 2015 Mets with very good young pitchers. Except the Marlins actually knew how to get it done.

Great video! Hadn’t seen so many of these and wouldn’t have believed you on a couple of them if I had only been there told about them!

I remember watching Luis Tiant and Juan Marachal when I was a kid. Crazy pitching styles. 👌

Glad to see Marichal included here. Fun fact: up until Pedro Martinez got in there, Marichal was the only Dominican in the HOF.

Missed Oil Can Boyd and his crazy non-stop ritual for each pitch, Juaquin Andujar and his open glove swiping in front when he pitched. There was also Bruce Sutter, that bend his pitching wrist back to the point it almost seemed like his wrist was dislocated. This list included only two of the many submarine pitchers in MLB history (Dan Quisenberry and Kent Tekulve), but missed others, like Ted Abernathy, Elden Auker, Chad Bradford, Mark Eichhorn, Gene Garber, Todd Frohwirth, and Steve Olin. Frohwirth and Quisenberry were my favorites to watch.

In addition to Marichal, Lindy McDaniel of the Cards/Cubs and Ted Abernathy of the Cubs/Braves had unique pitching styles in the 60's.
