Kleypass, Quinn and Hoyt. Would you be so kind as to tell me about James and Grey? As far as witty, historically accurate, well developed characters and sense humor (and the steamy scenes goodness 😍). And lastly, which books of those two authors would you recommend to me? Thank you!

Same !! Every now and then I check to see if she wrote anything and no 😢
I totally agree with The Governess Game!! It totally needs more love! Surprised to see Edenbrooke on this list as well. It's a fun one for sure. I've read all but the last 2, but they are both on my list.
A Kingdom Of Dreams sounds like something I'd love! Personally, I'm a lot more forgiving of certain problematic elements when they're in historicals over contemporaries. It all depends on how it's handled, of course. So looking forward to that one!
i've been dying for this!!!! literally this past week i was just thinking about how much i want a video on historical romance doesnt really matter the theme BY YOU and thank you, my prayers have been heard

I swear Tessa dare is everyone’s go to!
I loved The Governess Game (and the whole Girl Meets Duke series so far), or as I like to call it - The Nanny: Regency Edition.
YAAAAAS I love historical romance and your channel so I’m truly loving this!!!
the timing of this is so perfect, I was literally just thinking about how I really wanna read a historical romance
I've been really wanting to dive into historical romance so I really appreciate you doing this video!
Perfect timing! I was trying to decide what my next read would be. A Kingdom of Dreams has been on my TBR, and I'm so excited to read it!
I wasn't aware that the Governess Game isn't well loved. I ADORE that book. The dialog when she gets hired is HILARIOUS, as are the funerals. So good. Plus I love that she has a science-y background. Nerds of all times unite!

I loved this! I’d love to see any Rec videos from you. Love getting new recs and your thoughts on a bunch of books at once.
I enjoy recommendations videos because they help me make lists of books I might want to read. Great job on the video.
YES! You’re one of the two people I trust to take recs from😍😍
omg i was just listening to your voice and i realise how clear your speaking is. i swear i can take notes from your videos for my english oral presentation 😭
That thumbnail tho 😍 great video! I don't read historical romance but your enthusiasm is still fun to watch.
Thanks for the recommendations. I've been getting into historicals too. "Lord of Scoundrels" is definitely a favourite. You mentioned you were reading Tessa Dare, the audiobook "Do You Want to Start a Scandal" had me cackling at my desk also blushing because it got steamier than I thought it would.
I love all the historical romance love 🙌 I’ve only read two books on this list so I’m excited to read the others now
I actually like recommendation videos and it's better that they're from you. Our tastes match and not to mention, you're one of the few booktubers who I actually trust with reading books from your recommendations lmao
I've had Edenbrooke on my shelf forever. Glad to hear you loved it! The Governess Game is my favorite Tessa Dare that I've read so far. The Highwayman is so good!!
I would definitely recommend Coming Up Roses by Catherine Anderson. its by far my favorite historical romance, I can’t even explain how good it is. I fell for the hunky protector Zachariah and the relationship he builds with Kate (protagonist) and her daughter. It is so memorable!
A few of these have been floating around my TBR for a while, so it's clearly time to sit down and read them! I'm especially looking forward to the Loretta Chase book, because she's originally from my hometown and I feel I owe it to myself to finally check out her books.
Also omg Lady’s Guide yaaaas. I really like how she kept it clearly historical in context and took the seriousness of women in that time, while also being romantic
the Westmorland series by Judith McNaught is one of my favourites...!
I guess this is a sign that historical romances are how I’m going to get over this breakup,, thanks for the suggestions I love you 💖

That's exactly how I got over my breakup 14 years ago. I still think Lisa Kleypas' books saved my life. Mine'till midnight. God speed my dear
This is so helpful since I’ve only read one historical and I prefer romance that is darker!
I loved the Highwayman so much
Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey, Judith McNaught, Jude Deveraux and Kathleen Woodiwiss are my queens for hr.
Thanks for the recommendations, Edenbroke is one of my favs, can’t wait to check the other titles out
I’ve got Lord of Scoundrels & Governess Game on my shelf! Loved the Highwayman...(and phew! The steam...so good) I got the next one in that companion series, The Hunter...so I’m looking forward to all of them! ❤️
I have been into historical romances lately, so thanks for recommending more!
Edenbrooke is so charming and sweet. I loved that. I can see that being a comfort read for me in the future.
I adore Edenbrooke. I love her novel Blackmoore even more, it’s more heart wrenching but sooo good. I met Julianne Donaldson at a book club and she was so lovely.
You remind me so much of Mia Thermopolis from the Princess Diaries!!
this is so nostalgic omg, i found you from your steamiest romance recs in 2018 🥺🥺

I definitely love the recommendations videos I always end up ending one or two if not all of the books you recommend 😃😃😃😃
The Highwayman was one of my favorites this year! Actually finished this last week, read it 24 hours lol
Your channel has become my absolute favorite on youtube!!!!
Thank you for your recommendations. I put them in my goodreads.
Thank you for the recommendations! I'll definitely be putting Edenbrooke and A Kingdom of Dreams on my TBR. :)
My fav historical author :Tessa Dare, Jude deveraux, Lisa kleypas, Judith macnaught , Susan Elizabeth Philips 😘😍
ah your videos make my day
Prince Charming by Julie Garwood is *chef's kiss* perfection, not really into westerns but that one is amazing!
I’ll definitely give Edenbrook, Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics and The Highwayman a go! Great recs!
i've read (and adored) all of these but this just confirms how similar our tastes are 😌 i know you've tried Kleypas but seriously you read the ones i like the least! try Secrets of a Summer Night or Scandal in Spring, they're so much better Beverly Jenkins and Jennifer Ashley are musts! i love Indigo and The Many Sins of Lord Cameron respectively also Mia Vincy is great! she's a new author and she's self pub anyway this is a great video! i love that more people are getting into HR, i definitely used to think it was boring and tame
Loving the new thumbnail style!
A kingdom of dreams - Judith mcnaught Lord of the scoundrels - Loretta Chase The highwayman - Kerrigan Byrne The governess game - Jessa Dare Edenbrooke
More historical romance please. Loved Kerrigan B’s darker heroes. Courtney Milan historicals are a delight (the Governess Game novella is a fav.

Total on board with the Eden Brooke recommendation, I've loved the author's other books as well 😁
Yesss can’t wait to read ALL of these 😍
Just finished Edenbrooke and my god was I in love! I loved Philip, I loved Marianne, and I loved their journey to love!!! Finished it in a couple of hours.
Edenbrooke is amazing!! I didn’t expect to love it
Great recommendations! Well researched!
So happy to see Judith Mcnaught on this list. She is my all time favorite author (not only historical romance, but any genre). Her books always leaves me wanting more and her heroes *ooh child*. My favorite of hers is Ian Thornton from Almost Heaven and would love for you to read it and let us know what you think!

First of all let me say that thumbnail is GORGEOUS 😍 and this video is just perfect timing. I've never read or really been in to historical romances and I wanted to get into it but there's just sooo many I didn't know where to start. Thank you! Xxx (I also want to say I've been following for awhile and I never comment but I'm started to think it is important to show my support for 😊)

Hi Chandler, can you do another fantasy romance recommendations? 💖
I literally just finished the Olivia Waite book yesterday...great suggestion! 😊
I loved The Hunter by Kerrigan Byrne. While that's not my favorite of all time it is a very good read. I usually read the older authors so over the past couple of years I've been discovering the newer authors and realize that I am enjoying quite a few of them.
Kingdom of Dreams and The Highwayman are UTTER perfection. I really want to read Lord of Scoundrels and The Governess Game now! Edenbrooke sounds good too but I like my steamy scenes hahah. Please read Bringing down the Duke by Evie Dunmore. It is amazing.

you're the second one to recommend that so i definitely need to get on it!
Have you read Outlander? That’s also a great historical romance
The beginning of A Lady’s Guid to Celestial Mechanics sounds a lot like that of Gentleman Jack(a show, highly recommend)

I read that book and it's pretty good.
The Westmoreland series! I love Royce & Clayton!
The Highwayman is the most amazing book ever............ Period
Recently read The Day of the Duchess by Sarah Mclean and has become my favorite Historical. And also Devil in Winter by Lysa Kleypas is pretty good. I'd love to know your opinion on those. I agree The Highwayman, A Kingdom Of Dreams and Lord of Scoundrels are super good. My favorite of those three is The Highwayman the romance was super angsty.
I love books with good banter too. I would recommend When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James. I liked The Duchess Deal, A Week to be Wicked, and Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare the most. Judith McNaught’s Something Wonderful is good too.
literally just finished "The Duchess Deal" by Tessa Dare cuz I was told it is a perfect introduction to historical romances...safe to say I adored it and am looking forward to reading more in this genre, continuing with "The Governess Game" (the second book mentioned)

Can we have an update to enemies to lovers or similar. Or fake dating. I've been reading a lot of heavy books and kind of need something light as a pallet cleanser
I always thought I didn't like historicals but since so many romance booktubers have been reading them, I started trying some out, and BOY OH BOY DO I HAVE A RECOMMENDATION FOR YOU!!! I really think you'd like "Seduced By A Highlander" by Paula Quinn. It's enemies to lovers where the hero and the heroine are from enemy clans because of the murder of their uncle/father respectively. But Tristan, the hero, meets the heroine Isobel and at first doesn't realize who she is, then when he does find out, vows to reconcile the feud between their families. She is determined to hate him because his father killed hers, but is super attracted to him. And a big part of the book is set at Isobel's home where you meet her brothers who are all just so precious! Besides the romance, there are themes of grief, and healing, and men opening up about their emotions, and I loved it so much! I highly recommend it!

Hey Chandler! Great Video. I got some good recs. Thanx for that. Have u ever thought abt trying manga? Like Romance Manga? I think u will love it.
Hope you’ll come back soon I miss your videos
I'm not much of a reader but I've read Jane Austen's books and my all time favorite is Persuasion and I just finished Edenbrooke by your recommendation from IG and I LOVED IT!!!! Exactly the type of book I like, no need for sex to have passion and no need to over complicated plots to bring two characters together. I immediately looked for more of the author and I found Blakmoore and it's just as good, 10/10 would recommend both books

Have u seen Persuasion 2007? They are remaking it. They just advised a few days ago.
My favorite historical romance author is Sarah Waters. Your recommendations have been valuable to me, so I'll recommend one of the best romances streaming now on Hulu. You probably know it, but in case you don't, it's Normal People. The book is good but the series is amazing and so emotionally very powerful.
I've read books by all of these authors, and I've read books with similar plots to all of these books, but I have not read a single book on this list! I kept thinking oh I feel like I remember that and then I would go and check and be like no I'm thinking of something else, lol, this never happens. I usually have read at least one book on every recommendation list that I watch.
Im definitely gonna look into the "A Kingdom of Dreams" one :^)
I added 6/6 to my cart ahhh loved this
I loved A kingdom of Dreams! Second book of Judith Mcnaught book I read. It paved the way for my love for historical romance in general. Lord of Scoundrels is a great book too...Going to read The Highwayman now...

i love edenbrook too! glad that i see a youtuber suggesting this book. this book shows that without any sex scenes, you can feel the chemistry and tension between the H and h due to just damn good writing and that is sufficient enough
omg this is the earliest i have been
OKAY BUT THAT THUMBNAIL??? 🔥
Would you be able to do a recommendation video on Arranged Marriages?? It’s one of my favorite tropes but I haven’t read a lot of them!
I loved Edenbrooke so much!
Also Lisa Kleypas and Sarah Maclean are some of my very favorite historical romance authors pleeeeease check them out. The Wallflowers Series and the Hathaways Series by Lisa Kleypas are absolutely some of my favorites of all time not just historical.

I 2nd these recommendations and also add the Kleypas book “Dreaming of You”. Derek Craven is a very unusual (the cockney accent alone!) and unforgettable hero. If you like podcasts, I also recommend “Fated Mates” co-hosted by Sarah Maclean and Jen Prokop. The 1st season is all about Kresley Cole’s paranormal “Immortals After Dark” series but the second season is about all the books that made them romance readers and they talk about Kleypas and the authors you mentioned in your video a lot. They have a whole episode on “Lord of Scoundrels”. They are hilarious and bawdy and I think a must listen for anyone who adores romances.
