6 Disturbing Moments in Christopher Gregor's Child Abuse Murder Trial Week 3

Ойын-сауық

The third week of Christopher Gregor's murder trial was a short one but it wasn't short on drama. Gregor's father took the stand as prosecutors dropped a bombshell about a jailhouse phone call between Gregor and his mother. Gregor has pleaded not guilty to the April 2021 murder of his six-year-old son, Corey Micciolo. Prosecutors say Gregor beat Corey to death while Gregor claims sepsis caused his death. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy goes through the week's top moments in this episode of Crime Fix - a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

Corey's grandparents saw Corey's injuries and dismissed them as minor, and the investigators were incompetent. In the end, the child died in the hospital while the father ran away from the hospital, leaving the child alone. The mother reported to CPS more than 100 times that her child was being abused. Mom was the only one who fought for Corey😡

Very strange that Corey's grandfather whose words signify that there was great bonding with his grandson did not probe further into the bruises and other tell-tale signs, more so considering the fact that he was a senior police officer officer, presumably with much experience. His defence attorney was grandstanding at the end of yesterday’s 3 hours in session. Saying Chris would take 3 days on the stand. It’s never going to happen. They are only doing this to later say he wanted to testify. He would say the wrong things and lead to prior bad acts coming in during cross examination I’m positive of it.

I saw those pictures that Corey's mom took of the boy's suspicious injuries including his bloodshot eyes. Nobody gets those eye injuries from flag football. Chris is lucky his prior bad acts and ALL THE STATEMENTS in that 2 hour long police stop of 4/4/21 are protected and hidden from jurors. It's too late, because the State's case-in-chief is already done. They still have a rebuttal after the defense rests, but they can't call any NEW witnesses, unless it's to impeach a defense witness. (They have to stay "within the scope"). Since the defense has decided NOT to call Chris Gregor's mother, the prosecution can't question her (cross-examination) and they're simply SOL. I have heard of a judge making a special exception for either side and allow them to re-open their case to add on additional evidence, but again, it is within the discretion of the judge. I haven't heard the prosecution request it, either.

There is one woman who took her children and ran to another country because their dad was abusing them. She raised them there and when they become adults, she returned to the US and turned herself in. Her job was to keep her children safe at all costs and I personally believe the safety of a child is above the law. Once she raised them safely, she faced the consequences.
